What exactly do you get with Basic Phytokinesis?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

A little while ago, I bought the Occult Origins PDF in order to see what new Kineticists Paizo had come up with this accessory. And I noticed that the PDF didn't make any mention of what Basic Phytokinesis does exactly.

Anyone got a clue as to what was this Utility Wild Talent does? *curious*

yes,
BASIC PHYTOKINESIS
Element wood; Type utility (Sp); Level 1; Burn 0
You can prune and otherwise garden plants within 30 feet without using gardening tools. You can search wooded areas and other plant-heavy areas from a distance as if using the siftAPG cantrip.

LOL. I can imagine a phytokineticist wanting to prune a Plant-Type monster with basic phytokinesis.

Not the most imaginative form of basic kinesis IMO.

Scarab Sages

Wood is generally a weak element. It's basic kinesis is generally poor as well, but it could be useful depending on terrain. Especially for finding Snare, Pit, and Log Fall traps in a ranger patrolled forest.

Phytokinesis has its niche as does each of the elements...just some niches are broader and more useful.
