Iron Gods Vs. Wasteland Mutants

I'm going to DM the Iron Gods AP but i have only two PC's. I've decided to use Mutants (The template) instead of PC races and a stats array of 18 16 14 12 10 8. Any thoughts on that?

My two players (two girls) wants to play as a ugly mutant orc barbarian with a drill for a arm and the other wants to play a deformed spiritualist child that was saved by her grandfather (her phantom) from a radioactive blast. How do you think they will do on this AP? Any tips for them?


In any AP especially one like this, you're much better off having your two players play 4 regular characters than two souped up ones.

Because basically... one of them is GOING to fail a save which incapacitates the character. In a two character group that's 50 percent of your force taken down, as opposed to 25 in a four character group.


They don't want to play using Two PC each.

I'm still thinking on using the mutant template or letting then go gestalt.
To increase their numbers i'm going to put Meyanda as a cohort or putting Dinvaya earlier to help them.

Since they only want to play one character each, I'd suggest doing both.

I'd suggest using Sanvil Trett until his betrayal.

Maybe boost their power even further by using the mythic rules?


Several Bosses of Iron gods already have mythic Tiers (Hellion,Unity).
