some of the items have mods on them as per my sheet, which might explain some of the cost difference.

That puts me at 451,388 spent out of 452000 (1 karma spent to add 2000 nuyen), leaving 612 plus my low lifestyle roll of 5840 equals 6,452 starting nuyen.

hah yeah should be interesting. i figured the gang i offended in my story would have probably been Italian (Chicago and all) and the gang in whose territory i live and from whom i purchase protection just might be Russian?

Looking at my character (built it with a beginner's understanding of the system) and wondering something, for instance:

My sneaking is 7 (using bioware) and agility is 7.
Catlike gives me a +2 dice pool modifier
Chameleon Suit gives me +2 limit.

How many dice to i roll, and is that number way over my limit?

If i am understanding correctly, i have 16 dice but my limit is 9. So if that is the case, 7 skill points are being otherwise wasted.

You roll all your 16 dice but your successes are capped at your limit.

If you got 10 hits you only count 9

So extra dice aren't wasted it just gives you a better chance of getting more hits...

You can do a custom adjustment, in the filter type "accuracy" and the one comes up to add accuracy to the weapon and you choose the weapon from a drop-down.

Then to reflect the cost make a custom gear in the gear tab, label it, and type 100 nuyen.

Anyone with crime ties might know Rick, or have heard of him. A relative new comer to Chicago, in that short time he has made a name for himself as a kick artist, and using non-lethal methods of completing jobs..but dont let that fool you, if needed he can kill!!

So... the Denver group is in and not Chicago...? Ummm... can I make changes to my character? I kinda made him on the assumption I'll be in Chicago.

Admittedly, only thing that I think needs tweaking his is contacts.

Shinobi I don't think I understand your question. There are two groups, both are using this discussion thread for my sake in the two groups because there may be some changes later. What would you like to change?

Chicago group, because of the background count don't forget to take off two dice from anything involving magic or has magic linked to it. This includes Adepts who have killing hands activated, removing two dice from their unarmed pool.

Denver group, understand that Denver lies between four nations, mainly the UCAS and PCC. You will have to cross borders and border patrol, so you are subject to searches, you better be comfortable with your Fake SIN and Licenses or you will be spending time in jail.


The Denver group is not in Chicago, yet all my contracts are in Chicago. Which isn't exactly very helpful currently. I'm mean, its in the backstory that my guy isn't new to the city.... and well, you've put a guy with ZERO Fake SIN's & Licenses, in a place where he will more than likely need them, and fast.

So I'm asking if I can adjust my character so I can move my contracts from Chicago to Denver. Also, I kinda forgot to get Taser Darts... so yeah. Fake SINs will have to wait until I got more cash... luckily the only things I'll need a license for is my Chameleon suit and my lockpicks.

So I realized I need to edit a couple of things:

1. I need to add my contacts, I'm planning a mechanic and a talismonger.
2. I meant to buy a magical lodge, and some licenses (drivers, concealed carry).
3. I realized that the added security and difficult to find hadn't picked up on my lodging.

Also:
1. I also just realized that the book I'm using is 4th edition, so if I do something wrong by the 5th rules warn me and I'll correct course. I am working on updating but it may take me a minute.
2. I haven't figured out the tag line feature yet, so I'm not ignoring just getting to it.

Hur... wish I knew about the borders earlier... got to figure something out for that.

I thought 1s took away hits from a roll? For instance if you roll 12 hits but also six 1s, you would actually get 6 hits? or am i thinking of a different system?

Different system, 1's only matter when the are more than half, then it is a glitch, if no hits are scored and you glitched then it is a critical glitch.
