Hello everyone,
Just purchased this amazing game! Me and my friends runned a couple of scenarios to learn about it and try different characters, but now it comes the time to go for a full adventure (Perils of the lost coast - Rise of the Runelords).
I got couple of questions to ask that I dont seem to find an answer:
- While playing with 4 friends is a healer role a must have? or can we live without it?
- Without the above, how to get cards back from discard pile? only at the end of scenario?
- After we finish perils of the lost coast, do we take our characters to the burnt offerings adventure? or is it like a tutorial only?
Thanks in advance!

Great purchase.

It can be done, but you will probably find it difficult. Because...
- Without the above, how to get cards back from discard pile? only at the end of scenario?
There are a few ways. Father Zantus and Potion of Healing early, later Staff of Minor Healing. Even some locations help you (Apothecary, Sandpoint Cathedral). And nothing stops you from acquiring and playing a Cure spell if you don't have the divine skill. You will just have to banish it after playing it is all.
All those things are less reliable than someone who can recharge a Cure spell though.
But in general, you will need to be conservative with your cards. Seoni or any one that discards a lot will be challenge.

Continue right into Burnt Offerings, with your decks and that nice skill feat.
Thanks in advance!
You are welcome. Good luck on your adventure!

Theopt: I'd recommend it, but there's a bunch of ways to get Cure spells and similar effects. If you don't have any of those available, then yes, you pick up your discard pile at the end of the scenario as part of rebuilding your deck.
You can keep the same characters from Perils if you want, or you could skip it/make new characters and start with Adventure 1. (This is true with any of the main sets' B Adventures.)
legoguy4492: This forum is for the Adventure Card Game, not the RPG.

Don't worry. It happens from time to time. But to make up for it, you should probably also try the card game now.

Hello everyone! I'm back :) So we're starting our pre-adventure (perils of the lost coast). We finished two scenarios already.
Couple of questions that came up and I still didn't found a proper answer:
- Can we do Alternative Path after finishing this adventure and before moving into burnt offerings? so we take that card feat with us? Or is this a "choice" people have to make?
- We played with healer but I still didnt understood if I could do this or not:
"Instead of your first exploration on a turn, you may reveal a card with the Divine trait to
choose a character at your location. Shuffle 1d4+1 (□+2) random cards from his discard
pile into his deck, then discard the card you revealed."
Does this mean that I can discard a blessing(that allows me to explore again) and do this spell on that exploration again?
Thanks in advance!

1. What do you mean by Alternative Path? I can't really answer your question until you clarify this. If you're playing Rise of the Runelords, you jump into Burnt Offerings immediately after finishing Perils of the Lost Cost.
2. No, that power can only be used instead of your first (free) exploration on your turn. Once you use that power, that first free exploration is used up. If you want to explore your location, you need to spend cards to be able to do that. You cannot use extra explorations as heals since those are no longer the first exploration.

- If you're also playing one of the fan-made adventure paths that use the same box, you should probably only use your characters for one or the other. (If you want to play them concurrently, try out some of the other characters!) Playing both with the same characters will overpower those characters, since you'll be getting feats way more often than intended. Might be more trouble than you'd like resetting the box to switch back and forth between parties, though.
- If you do anything else on your first exploration, like encounter a card, then you've passed the point in your turn when the healing power can be used. It has to be "instead of" your first exploration.
A power that did what you'd like it to do would say something like, "On your turn, discard a card with the Divine trait to...." Then it doesn't say *when* it applies during your turn, so you could do it anytime (before your first explore, just before you reset your hand...).

In the box there is an alternative adventure card for perils of the lost coast. though we could do that before burtn offerings.

Thx for the answer. so the hunter and the warrior can help in any encounter of others, even multiple times per turn right?

Perils of the Lost Coast is more of an introductory prequel for the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path. The rules recommend starting with Perils and then continuing on to the full AP with Burnt Offerings. Your character(s) would keep anything you earn in Perils including card and power upgrades.

yes but only the alternative adventure path gives us the card upgrade. the other is the skill one I believe.

There is no "alternative" path. There are three scenarios in Perils that give random draw rewards, and a card feat for completing all three, and then on to Burnt Offerings. There is also the Adventure Path card which includes all six main adventures, starting with Burnt Offerings, which is what you play after Perils.
