You may not
assign a Chronicle sheet earned with a pregenerated
character to a character that was already at the level
of the pregenerated character or higher.

Emphasis mine

I have a somewhat important timing question to ask about this a given character.

Does it have to be the *exact* level, or the *tier* of that exact level?

Example: Pre-gen character is L7. If I want to apply this to a level 6 character, is that legit when the scenario chronicle subtiers are 3-4 and 6-7 (in a 3-7 scenario), since there is no difference mechanically in terms of reward in the tier 6-7 bracket, and I can't apply it to a L7 character(because they're the same level as the pregen)?

Thank you for your time in advance!

Level 7.

"level of the pregenerated character played" as opposed to "level of the subtier played".

Unless its serpents rise which can be assigned 6-8

And I plan on using that liberally to get folks into the "oh my god we have adventures for everyone" 7-11 tier.

Actually, any scenario or module that requires all players to use Pregens.

So, Serpents Rise, True Dragons of Absalom, and the 3 We Be Goblins.

I suppose, with so many games available now, this should be clarified in the next Guide.

How does that *work*, then?

If I can't assign it at L6 for a 6-7 tier, and I can't assign it to a character that's at the level of the pregenerated character?

Or is it 'At the time of play, character who is NOT at the level of the pregen character may have this chronicle assigned to them when they reach the level of the pregen'?

If you use a level 7 pregen you have to assign it to a character who is level 6 or lower, but you do not apply the chronicle sheet to the character until they hit level 7.

Now for example if the character is 6.2 and plays a mod worth 3xp. You would then jump to 7.2, add then add the waiting pregen credit. Which would bump you to level 8.

If a character hits 7 and they have a pile of 7-11 pregen credits assigned to a character. The pregen credits are applied chronologically in the order that they were played/assigned, and the character is leveled as appropriate. This leveling can affect if they get in-subtier or out-of-subtier rewards for certain chronicle sheets.

Normally this is the case, but specifically for Serpent's Rise, you can apply the chronicle to a character of levels 1 or 6-8.
