Special material descriptions exactly the same??

Rules Questions

Was scrolling through special materials section of d20pfsrd and came across 2 materials who have the exact same description and functionality? Can anyone clarify?

Geranite
Horacalcum

And

Dreamstone
Noqual

Horacalcum doesn't have a source listed, but it seems to be from Shards of Sin (2012) from Paizo. Geranite, on the other hand, is from Godmetals of Porphyra (2013) by Purple Duck Games. It's not uncommon for 3rd parties to change the names of Paizo-created game elements and make small changes to the description to avoid copyright issues. d20pfsrd does this quite a lot. For example, they changed the Wayang Spellhunter trait to the Metamagic Master trait and the Magaambyan Arcanist prestige class to the Collegiate Arcanist prestige class. My guess is that Purple Duck Games did something similar here.

Aaaah ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification!

If you're looking to avoid 3rd Party materials you could try searching either Paizo's PRD or the website archivesofnethys.com.
