Weapon Finesse with Swashbuckler / Unchained Rogue

Rules Questions

If you multiclass Swashbuckler then unchained rogue, how do you handle the weapon finesse you get from both classes? Does the Rogue automatically upgrade to its next finesse level?

No. They are very different features.

figure all their abilities out as if they weren't multiclass, and then combine that list.

The two overlap a great deal, both in theme and abilities, but in a way that's redundant rather than synergistic. I would suggest picking one and sticking with it.

Things like this get confusing because I believe somethings do actually combine. If you have levels in two classes, and both of those classes provide a familiar, then isn't your familiar's level based on the sum of the two?

That may be an exception based upon the fact you may only have a single familiar no matter what.

Two things...

This should be on the rules forum.
And
This is like a fighter & barbarian both having martial weapon proficiency.... But a fighter/barbarian doesn't get Exotic because he has it twice.

It only stacks when it says it stacks (and you expressly can't stack stats)

I think another good example is a positive channeling cleric and a life oracle with the channel revelation; they do not merge, and instead turn into two separate channel pools with (potentially) two different # of dice involved.

At least, I think it does.

You are correct. Same with a paladin and those as well.
