They had to kick you out to prevent you from sabotaging their plans. You are the unruly party member. You're also plainly not the party leader because they aren't following you.
Seconding this also. The party should just abandon you at this point.
I disagree, at least how i read things the party was NOT all on the paladin's side, but split between the two camps, which would mean there is no party leader, and does not necessarily mean the OP was in the wrong (disregarding the fact that popular opinion doesn't decide these things in the first place)

Sorry for late response to all of this but yes, The paladin and an NPC asked for this, My character agreed to it before we could get input from the other characters.

We Have a fighter in the group who is indifferent and a Monk who has sided with me in the past.

Heh.

If the Paladin is always automatically opposing you, start proposing lines of action that are very much in line with what a Good player would want to do, forcing him to either agree with your proposal or act in a manner that is at least Neutral, rather than Good.

Show up to a new town? Propose to the party that you all take a certain percentage of your current money to buy food for the poor and homeless. New potential mission? Be the first and most ardent proponent of taking on the mission, and maybe even advocate doing it for no reward.

You see, just because you're evil doesn't mean you can't do good acts, especially when you're doing them for a calculated purpose. The Paladin will be forced to agree with your proposed plans or look like (maybe even become) the bad guy.

Do the same thing in adventures. Always seek to be the voice of sweet reason. Do your best to propose logical and effective courses of action, but make sure those courses do not include anything that might smack of expedient evil. Make the Paladin have to be the one who is unreasonable and confrontational, make him be the one that proposes absurd or difficult courses of action just so he can continue to oppose you.

Now, while doing all of this, your character should always be looking directly at the Paladin with a look of slight amusement on his face. You see, both your player and the Paladin know what's going on. You're totally playing him for your amusement.

It's a win-win situation for your character. Either the Paladin squirms and works with your proposals, which costs you nothing, or the Paladin (or another character) ends up proposing a course of action that might be closer to what you really wanted to do, anyway.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Only discuss how the party can help fight for their current cause, talk about the reasons the Paladin should help with stuff...

Never ever phrase anything using your own desires.

Never discuss your own goals.

Donate to charity (sponsor an orphanage)-a few hundred gold out of your tens of thousands can make you look saintly...

I've played lots of evil characters, and evil doesn't mean having kitten pie for dinner every day.

Evil can be the nice couple next door who you have known for years, attend church, host fantastic dinner parties... and have several children trapped in their basement.

Your evil can be hidden. :D
