Are poisons workable in PFS (yet)? *Starts reading to find out*

Can you elaborate on this? I feel there's tone being conveyed but I'm not sure which direction it's going.

+4 to vs poisons pretty clearly means +4 on saves

I think he means the poison that the poisoner's jacket creates is not limited, because the jacket specifies any poison from the Core Rulebook worth 300gp or less. I'm... not sure, but I think the restrictions in the Additional Resources still apply.

Silver Crusade 3/5

This guide is inaccurate. All of the poisons listed with Ultimate Equipment as the source are found in the Core Rulebook.

Oh. In that case, yes, I agree.

I'm sure. The AR always applies.

be fair he said dex damage poisons are worthless i like em because they reduce the creatures ac, just as strength dam can reduce to hit chance, so the worth of a poison is gonna be different depending on who you ask

Are they really going to be cost effective compared to a scroll of heroism though?

70 gp (for crafting giant wasp poison, or a bit less for large scorpion venom to attack Strength) versus 700 gp? There's a good chance they might.

With one hand I give. The Dark Archives faction card 7+ completed goals boon lets you requisition 100xlvl in gold pieces of alchemical or magical items, but not scrolls or wands. Poisons seem like a pretty good use for that.

Is poison "alchemical?" I'm not sure it is.

Yes. They use the Craft (alchemy) skill to identify. In the general Pathfinder rules, they use Craft (alchemy) to create.

I updated the guide.

Venom-Drenched is a halfling-only Trait. Says in the top left of the page before the page that it's on (but in the same section). It's notably only non-magical poisons. Last, it does stay in your system for 24 hours, it is nifty in that you don't need to use it in combat, but sort of as a contingency plan.

Anyway, I do like the guide. Nice to have it all in one place.

I'd add the Serpentine Bloodline (Sorcerer). The poison from this bite attack does CON damage. It's interesting as it grants a first level poisoned bit attack whose DC is Con based, rather than CHA based like all the other Bloodline abilities. The serpentine bloodline also grants access to the Poison spell, which is normally not a Sorcerer spell.

A Wildblooded Sorcerer can take the Envenomed Bloodline, which modifies the 3rd level power of the Serpentine bloodline to:

"Envenom (Su): At 3rd level, as a swift action, you can lick or bite a melee weapon to imbue it with 1 dose of black adder venom. The poison's DC is equal to 10 + 1/2 your sorcerer level + your Charisma modifier. You may use this ability once per day at 3rd level, and one additional time per day for every three additional levels. The poison cannot be removed or stored, and the weapon loses the benefit of the poison after the first successful attack or 1 hour has passed. The bloodline power replaces serpentfriend."

Unlike the other bloodline power, this one is CHA based DC, but this one both generates a specific poison and allows it to be applied to weapons.

I believe the Serpentine Bloodline is thematically and mechanically mimics the powers based on Guardian Nagas who have a better version of the same poison. Which you can see again in the Naga Aspirant Druid who can a pick up a number of different Naga abilities. (It may not be guardian nagas specifically)

Where are the rules on this? I am never sure what to use to identify poisons.

I wasn't complaining, just pointing it out. Really, the poison DC is based on the Monster USR for poison (10 + 1/2 racial HD + Con mod).

The Serpentine bloodline is actually one of the better ones for Multi-class/Eldritch Heritage bloodlines, as it's one of the few bloodlines that isn't overly impaired by not being a pure sorcerer (so long as you've got a high CON). Plus bite attacks don't require freeing up hands.

But I'm off topic.

Yeah, Naga Aspirant Druid is a viable option for poison themed characters.
