I just noticed a change to the spell make whole that was introduced with the 5th printing of the Core Rulebook. The spell was changed as follows:

Core Rulebook, 4th printing wrote:
This spell functions as mending, except that it repairs 1d6 points of damage per level when cast on a construct creature (maximum 5d6).
Core Rulebook, 5th printing wrote:
This spell functions as mending, except that it repairs 1d6 points of damage per level when cast on an object or construct creature (maximum 5d6).

I missed this change as, at the table, I usually use my 4th printing book, and this change was not listed in any of the errata documents that highlight the changes from one printing to the next.

This makes make whole somewhat more useful to repair objects too heavy for mending. Pre-errata it would only repair 1d4 hp per casting, now up to 5d6. Of course, for lighter objects, you can repair any amount of damage by casting mending over and over again.

Anyway, interesting. Who knows what else I've missed so far...

Nor is it in the PRD or Archives of Nethys. However, the SRD has the text.

Who knew? The SRD beats AoN & PRD. This time. :-)

I guess the PRD was updated by using the errata document.

Also, in the Technology Guide, greater make whole has been based off the pre-errata version, and should probably also affect objects in the same way as construct creatures,

Furthermore the text for greater make whole is kind of weird. It says

Quote:
This spell repairs 1d6 points of damage plus 1 point per level...

a wording that normally means a fixed 1d6 and a level-dependent bonus, i.e. 1d6+10 at caster level 10, not the 10d6+10 that is listed as a maximum and obviously intended result.

Make Whole, Greater wrote:
This spell repairs 1d6 points of damage plus 1 point per level when cast on a construct creature (maximum 10d6+10). Greater make whole can fix destroyed magic items or technological items (items at 0 hit points or fewer), and restores the magic properties of the item if your caster level at least equal to that of the item. This spell otherwise functions as make whole.

Since regular Make Whole caps at 5d6 (max 30), the greater one capping at 1d6+10 (max 16) makes no sense. :-)

Definitivel. It's just that the wording is bad.
