Therin Dasher - Dirty Fighter Build Advice

Advice

With the inclusion of yet another book to fighters, Weapon Masters, and some where in the future we'll get the armor Master's guide, along with melee, ranged, and dirty tactics books, I've been slowly increasing my like for fighters.

You could take the books and bound them together imo, to make an ultimate fighter supplement book. While not without their flaws, there is a lot of gems in these books.

Dirty Tactics particularly started the idea of a character, a fighter who fights like a rogue, but not like a rogue class. More like a classic rogue, the Han Solo, the jack sparrow, and more.

That character I call him at the moment Therin Dasher, a man who's belief that the only real honor in combat is doing everything you can to beat the other guy.

So Starting off with Fighter, Human.

Racial Mods - Replace Skilled with Fey Magic to increase the number of class skills and offer enhanced vision. Particularly we take Acrobatics and Perception here.

Archetypes - Lore Warden and Martial Master

Lore warden was chosen because it increases the ability to perform combat maneuvers at a higher proficiency. It also gives me combat expertise, which while I don't need it for maneuvers, helps with getting other feats. The real icing on the cake though is the +2 to skill points (which can only be spent on int skills) and that all int based skills are class skills.

Martial Master is chosen because it makes the character more able to handle situations. There is a lot of good gimmick feats out there, but they are too situational. So I make so when I get into that situation I can pick them up.

Traits - Pragmatic Activator, Cunning Wordplay (Bluff)

Feats
1: Dirty Fighting - This is the bases of everything. Get the best part of every improved maneuver feat there is, but only when I'm flanking, or improve my ability to do the combat maneuver a lot if I flank and have the improved feat.
1: Quick Draw - I need to make sure I can get whatever weapon I need at a moment's notice.
1: Improved Dirty Trick - You can't be a dirty fighter really if you don't have something like this. And this is the best of all maneuvers. so being able to get a +6 when I flank with it, is very nice. At the moment though I use this one a lot to prepare an attack to blind an enemy who gets into my melee.
2: Combat Stamina:I had planned to get this one later, Until I saw that the feat functions with combat expertise, essentially allowing me to double my attack bonus, kinda, when fighting with this defensive measure.
3: Step Up: This feat is chosen to increase my ability to harrow and press against enemies, while also bringing me closer to my true goal with it.
4: Gang up: This is the third feat for my goal. I don't particularly like taking it though, cause it doesn't really have additional feats attached to it like the others I've picked so far. Might be useful though later on to help with team up.
5: Press to the Wall: This is the final feat for my focus here. Press to the wall, should work with Gang up. Which then works with Dirty fighting. I might be alone, but if I'm in a five foot wide hallway, something that happens a lot for me, I can get my flanking bonus. It might be better however to store this feat now that I've got Martial Mastery
6: Combat Reflexes: Now back to unlocking feats. And this one is a pretty nice one to get for unlocking some pretty harrowing feats, that can sure throw a bungle into someone's plans.

For more of the build I've got a google doc here, since I can't edit this post after posting it.

if you plan to be using the Dirty Trick maneuver often i would suggest the Kitsune Style feat chain from dirty tactics toolbox, since doubling your dirty tricks and being able to use them on a charge seems pretty useful at least to me

Do you have a way to perform a Dirty Trick as an attack? The Quick Dirty Trick feat lets you do it once per round while the Dirty Fighter archetype allows you to do it whenever you'd like (unfortunately the archetype is for orcs and the ability isn't until 9th level)

Dirty Trick Master can be a very effective feat, especially if you do find a way to attempt more than one Dirty Trick per round. I've had the idea before that an Eldritch Guardian with a familiar who can perform Dirty Tricks and other combat maneuvers might be fun, but I'm not sure if having a buddy who helps you abuse people would fit your character concept (Han Solo had Chewbacca though)

That's why I really like a 3 level dip of bounty hunter slayer for a dirty tricks build. You can do your attack damage and dirty trick at the same time. You just have to apply blind with quick dirty trick, so the rest of your attacks are sneak attacks.

I can pick up quick dirty trick when I get the Martial Mastery abilities.
