Skull&Shackles: Premium Plunder Die in its "Ultra Premium"-Edition

Homebrew and House Rules

My Premium Plunder Dice are just black dice with white etched symbols...

Do you want more? More Premium? More jaw dropping?

Just came across this new dice kickstarter.

Self rolling, sound activated gaming dice...

There is one pledge level where you could design your own dice.
20 dice plus 10 charging stations for 1000 USD. So 50 USD for one self-created plunder die. You can add two standard D6 plus 1 charging station for 38 USD.

Go to Ultra Premium Plunder Die.

What do you think?
Anybody interested?

We would require 19 "Ultra-Premium Plunder Die"-fans to make this work.
19 followers for this exclusive project.

A D20 version unlocks at 200k for the use for e.g. Wrath of the Righteous.

I saw these last week, and I actually really dislike them. Not only do they take out the actual dice rolling, which my whole group really enjoys, it triggers on sound, which means one of two things.

1)They work well, and they'd be randomly rolling every 10 seconds at our table.
2) They don't work well, and you have to clap till your hands fall off to get one roll.

I'm actually surprised this one made its goal. The people who typically buy special dice are the people who enjoy rolling them. I get the feeling most of the backing comes less from the "we don't have to roll these" crowd, and more from the "it has a game" or "ooh novelty dice" crowds.

If I want a special dice roller, I'll buy a copy of Trouble and drive my friends insane.

Yeah, we (my weekly D&D/Pathfinder group) looked at this KSer last week. We thought this was a horrible idea to bring to the table for some of the reasons Andrew pointed out. We like rolling our dice.

However, it is an impressive idea and glad they got their funding goal. But no thanks, I'll roll my own dice. Ultra Premium -- NOT.

Part of my issue is balance as well. I have an extremely hard time believing that with the tech inside, it's actually somewhat balanced.

Grand Lodge

Come on, Andrew, I'm sure it's balanced. It's says so and it's on the internet. So it's gotta be true.

Ultra balanced for sure!
