How am I allowed to use Paizo PDF Map Bundles?

Paizo General Discussion

I have started to run my First On Line (Play By Post) Adventure Path here in the Paizo campaign forums and I am wondering about how I am allowed to use the PDF map bundles, should I decide to purchase one of them.

Can I post map portions to a Drop Box Folder of my own, and then link that image in one of the game posts to help my players manage their characters in a PbP combat situation?

When reviewing the Iron Gods Map Bundle I was intrigued by all the options and tricks available to a GM using virtual table top resources; however I want to be sure I do not violate any rules when I use the images in a game on a public forum such as this.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated, so that I can make an informed decision before I make the purchase.

Thank you.

Best way to think about it: can you control what happens to the image?

If someone else can save a copy of the image with your name watermarked on it, and spread it around the Internet for free, then the blame lies with you. If, on the other hand, you share an image in a way such that nobody else can manipulate it (copy it, really), when you remove the image it's gone for good, and you're safe.

Reasonable use is "only your players, and only for the time they're playing with you". Take whatever steps you need to prevent anybody else obtaining your copy (including people your players might be able to share it with), and you should be okay.

That might take a bit of research to figure out, but thanks that makes good sense.

1) Open PDF
2) Choose Select Tool
3) Select and Copy the map image
4) Paste into a program like Paint.
5) Save as whatever file type you want.
