The Spit Balled CR of Geb and Nex

I want to make the stats of Geb and Nex, and I need some help to see if their stats seems fair by Paizo standards.

I am stating Geb at CR 27. He gets 20 lvls from being a necromancer CR +19, access to player character wealth CR +1, being born of a noble house so he is stated at 25 point buy CR +1, being a ghost CR +2, and 8th tier archmage CR +4.

I am going to stat Nex at CR 26. He gets 20 lvls as a wizard CR +19, access to player character wealth CR +1, 8th tier archmage CR +4, he wandered the planes and get a CR +1 from his travels, and gets a CR +1 from the Crux of Nex.

That puts them at the height of their rivalry at CR 25. I was tempted to make them tier 10 archmages but its said that they extended their lives through elixirs and magic so they aren't immortal through being mythic, but one of Geb's favorite spells is the spell Soulreaver which has a tier 8 augmented ability so Geb is at least 8th tiered. Nex should be around around the same tier because of their rivalry.

I was also considering giving Nex another CR +1 for mastering is weird dimension magic.

So does my analysis of their abilities seem fair and probable?

Arazni is statted in Mythic Realms as a lich Wizard 20/Marshal 8 (CR 26), so these seem in line.

How does the +1 CR from planar travel factor into the stats?

Why does being born noble give a higher point buy?

I am basing that off of the stats of characters like old mage jatembe where he is CR 24. He is a level 20 wizard +19 CR, he has 6 mythic Ranks +3 CR, has pc wealth +1 CR, and finally he has an ability called Gift of the Teachers +1 CR. Gift of the Teachers is a bunch of bonus abilities that he has on himself that came from angels, demons, and gods. I would assume a similar thing would have happened to Nex during his travels, though it would most likely be a different set of abilities.

Baba Yaga and quite a few bosses and heavy hitters in the world have stuff like that to.

Certain characters like Baba Yage and Karzoug who are destined for greatness are based off of 25 point buy. Looking into it a person with noble heritage only seems to be getting 20 point buy due to the resources they have available as a child instead of the 25. So it may be better if I made him CR 26 instead though 20 point buy.

Without going into builds, I would put Geb at maybe CR 26-27, and Nex at 28-29. Why? Geb and Nex were at one point equals, or close enough to it, but since his suicide, I suspect that Geb has atrophied significantly compared to his long lost lover. I wouldn't put it out of the question that Arazni has equaled or even eclipsed Geb by now.

Nex on the other hand is all-but spoken of as a god. Making vast demiplanes, binding the essence of at least one demigod that we know of (Count Ranalc), making an astral impression of himself, slapping together artifacts like it ain't no thang. And what have you. I don't think Nex is quite at Baba-Yaga's level yet. That said though, if I had to guess another CR 30 character, Nex would be it.

That's pretty fair for Nex's CR though I would side with making him a bit lower say CR 27-28 maybe. That puts him stronger then some demigods. At the same time ultimately he did lose to Geb. So he should be closer to what Geb's CR should have been when he was still alive.

As for Geb atrophying, I don't think he should. From my understanding, ghosts are stuck as who they were when they were alive. He will never get stronger nor will he ever get weaker then he is now.

It's not without precedent - there are two liches who lost levels permanently for plot reasons. One is encountered in the Kingmaker AP, the other in the Emerald Spire module. In both cases, the liches in question were heavily implied to have been 20th level at the height of their power. They are significantly weaker in the modern day.

That said, even if Geb didn't atrophy I get the feeling that he has definitely stagnated. If Nex continued to grow in power after disappearing (and who knows if he did), while Geb just kind of gave up (un)living, than Nex would still be more powerful.

All just conjecture of course.
