A number of kineticist infusions and abilities reference elemental matter.

Take the Entangling Infusion for example; you entangle your enemy, possibly rooting them to the ground, by covering them in elemental matter. It goes on to say that the elemental matter can be targeted and destroyed by attacks as a means of freeing oneself from it.

Question 1: Do energy attacks against the elemental matter deal half damage, as they would against mundane objects? This question can apply to any other kineticist ability that makes use of destructible elemental matter (such as the Kinetic Cover or Wall wild talents).

Question 2: If I hit a flying creature with an entangling infusion twice, is he still rooted to the ground? What if the target is a 1,000 feet in the air? Is their a long tether of elemental matter keeping him from leaving his square (1,000 feet off the ground), or is he brought down to the ground? If the latter, does the target take falling damage?

I will admit- 2 is something that has been entirely mysterious.

Many other entangling things that can root ahve language for fliers. Tanglefoot bags can force a reflex save or fall, and tanglefoot bombs copy the bags but gives it better save DCs.

I would be perfectly fine with the need for 3 hits to root fliers if I can ground them in 2. I would love being the bane of dragons with something I can just spam.
