What class best fits a Wise old man?

Advice

lately i've been watching Legend of korra animated series, and it got me thinking about my favourite character of the show. and thats the Wise old uncle character Iroh. it got me thinking that it would be a fun character archtype to play. now Its got me thinking, what class best represents this kind of character, a character whose primary stat would most likely be his wisdom score, probably second by his charisma.

Wise old man makes me think of a Druid. There are fire spells you can use to emulate firebending. And Timeless Body means you can get quite old with no issues. Not sure how wild-shaping would fit into it. Maybe an archetype that gets rid of it?

to be honest I don't really care about fire bending, its more the personality of the character and wondering what kind of class would this type of character find themselves winding up as in golorian.

Sovereign Court

Go with a Sensei monk.

They make the party better with Inspire Courage to boost them, his own attacks are based on his Wisdom score, and if you grab the Qinggong power you can use Scorching Ray for a bit of firebending. (even though you said that was of minor concern)

If you aren't stuck on human - go dwarf awesome stats both fluff-wise and mechanically, boost to saves, and an awesome beard. (While wise - the uncle wasn't that charismatic - that's why his nephew kept ignoring him and his brother was able to take the position of Fire Lord ahead of him.)

If you are truly wise, and want to live to be old, you are probably a commoner or an expect, since adventuring will probably get you killed.

There's a 3rd party archetype called Wildfire Druid that seems perfect for an old man Firebender.

^ This, the Sensei archetype for monk is tailor-made for this type of character and barring that the monk class in general is made with the archetype (in the dictionary sense of the word) in mind.

awesome, I'll definitely look into the the sensei monk. thanks guys.
