Need some help with my build. Ranger --> Arcane Archer

Advice

Ok, the whole story is that, I decided to take the Freebooter archetype for ranger. I didn't realize that to rules lawyers, that the target of the freebooters bane, did not replace favored enemy. So that means, that my capstone and Quarry, and some other feats and spells no longer work. I don't want to debate the above, because for my game at least, it is correct. I realized this after I made Ranger LVL 6.

So this is what I have as far as stats:
Human RANGER LVL6 Freebooter Archetype
STR-16
DEX-20
Con-14
INT-`5
WIS-12
CHA-13

Ranger Combat style: Archery
Favored Terrain lvl3: Urban

Racial feat: Two Weapon fighting
lvl1 feat: Two weapon Defense
lvl2 Ranger Combat:Rapid Shot
LVl3 feat:Improved two weapon fighting
lvl5 Feat: Weapon Focus(Longbow)
lvl6 Ranger Feat: Point-Blank Master(longbow)
So this is where I am at, and I cannot change it. So from lvl7-20, that's where I can build. I am a pirate themed character in the Carrion Crown adventure path. I have not read ahead, so no spoilers.

We just finished Count Caremarks (?) Castle and I did all of the damage to the boss baddie before he could get in range of the party. So with that being said, I qualify for the Chevalier PrC. See #14 Children of the Void for details. it is 3 levels, and GM has approved and I want to take it. I want to finish out 11-20 with Arcane Archer.

My current plan is:
LVL7 wizard
LVL8-10 Chevalier
LVL11-20 Arcane Archer.
The only thing I have to caution you about is my GM stated that PrCs Have to be finished before you can switch to another class.
so i have to take an arcane caster lvl at either 7 or 10, and chevalier has to be either 7-9 or 8-10 so i can complete Arcane archer as well.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and assistance.

I'd actually recommend magus over wizard at this point in the character development. You still get most of the spell list, but gain the ability to cast in (light) armor without spending swift actions and a feat (which you don't qualify for with just one level of wizard, either); also (if you take three levels immediately, instead of one), you gain Spell Combat, Spellstrike, and the Close Range arcana (with undead being pretty common in Carrion Crown, Spellstrike with disrupt undead is a nice option).

Arcane archer is probably not worth it past 3rd level, so I'd recommend:
Lvl 7-9 magus
Lvl 10-12 chevalier
Lvl 13-15 arcane archer
Lvl 16+ magus (if "switching to another class" does not preclude returning to an existing class; as written, Carrion Crown ends at 15th level anyway)

Any chance of letting you retrain your class completely?

If you retrain your ranger levels into Eldritch Archer Magus, you'll become a very good archer and spellcaster character.

Normally, I would say wizard is great for that first level of a martial focused arcane archer. But your terrible makes that a bad idea. With what you have, I would consider a bard to obtain first level arcane spellcasting. The spells are more buff focused and you can cast in light armor.

The Armor I am using give only 5% spell failure rate.
+2 dark Leaf cloth studded leather armor.

OH! i just realized that my INT is wrong its 15 not 5 lol.

If your GM is ruling out your class abilities that one could reasonably expect to work (they would have the archetype would have replaced them if they intended them not to), he should allow you a free rebuild of some sort. At the very least to retrain the archetype.

Though honestly the GM should just make it work. A game full of lawyers hardly seems fun at all.
