Can the Instant Weapon spell (level 2 Inquisitor) create a 2 handed weapon?

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

Or what are the restrictions?

The description only says that it is a "melee weapon sized appropriately for you", but it doesn't specify which kind (can it be exotic, martial, etc?)

Thanks a lot for your time,
Ural

There's nothing in the spell that implies that it could not be used to create 2H weapons, or even exotic ones.

Just note that it doesn't give you proficiency with the weapon, so even if you do create an exotic weapon, you are at a -4 unless if you can grab proficiency from another source.

Any melee weapon sized appropriately for you. That restricts you from making, say, a huge dagger when you're a medium creature, but that's about all you can't do.

It does give you proficiency with the weapon.

You are considered proficient with this weapon, which acts in all ways as a masterwork weapon typical of its type. The instant weapon has hardness 20 and the same number of hit points as a typical weapon of its type. As a force effect, it can strike and damage incorporeal creatures. If the instant weapon leaves your hand at any time, the spell ends at the beginning of your next turn.

Sorry, it seems that I can't read.

Thanks a lot, folks! :)

I'd like to add a question regarding that spell.

Do I get a free trip attempt on each successful hit if I casted a Toppling Instant Weapon?

Yes, looking at the spell and MM feat it seems that damaging a creature with a force spell allows a trip attempt (without being tripped back if it failed)
wow... just wow...

Toppling spell doesn't work. You can only topple the target of the force spell and instant weapon doesn't target, it just creates a force effect that you then use.

This is correct. "Instant Weapon" itself does no damage, does not move the target, and does not cause a saving throw. Only the weapon created by the spell can do any of these things.
