Let's make the new CC's job a little easier

In November 2012 Mike Brock created the Compilation of Message Board Clarifications thread. Even though the PFS FAQ was created in July 2011, it was buggy and not easy to add things to. His thread was stickied at the top of this forum and was easy for all to find and see. In August 2013 those clarifications formed the backbone of our modern day, less buggy Pathfinder Society FAQ page.

Now, we have a new Campaign Coordinator, and she has some big shoes to fill. Let's make her life easier by compiling all of the other previous rulings by Campaign Leadership into this one thread. I know I would dread having to excavate dozens of 2-3 year old forums posts on my own (especially on my first day of work!).

Please link to posts by Mark Moreland, John Compton, Michael Brock, and even Joshua Frost, that you feel are still hotly debated or frequently asked. The purpose of this thread isn't to answer these questions, so let's not debate them. Let's collect them for now so that the new Leadership team can more easily go over them.

Let's format them like this:

John Compton: Racial Heritage does not supersede the ARG's "race restriction"

Mark Moreland: None of the items in the GameMastery Guide are legal for PFS

Michael Brock: If I get killed playing a pregen I can create a new character # and apply the chronicle (and the death) to it

Let's make this forum (and this community) serve its Leadership for a change =)

Ideally, we would get to a point where this is all centralized in one database or related system. We shouldn't have to search for old threads, conversations, etc.

Hopefully we will get there at some point!

One topic that I'd like revisited isn't so much a ruling but just something regarding the passage of time: the "half human" FAQ on Aasimars and Tieflings.

When it was written, it answered the question at the time of whether or not you could play a small-sized Aasimar (being descended from Gnomes or Halflings rather than medium-sized races).

But Pathfinder is a living game, and since that ruling we now have a new Rules FAQ regarding Half-orcs and Half-elves counting as "half human" for effects and prerequisites.

The consequence is that newer players (who don't understand the context of the Aasimar FAQ) think that their Planetouched PCs can freely dip into Human options, akin to Half-elves or Half-orcs.

I suggest the current FAQ be updated to reflect that language.

Are their other ambiguities, that haven't necessarily been clarified by Campaign Leadership, that others can link to?

Hmm... Improved Familiars and wands.

This list of wand using Improved familiars came out after Animal Archive. With Familiar Folio and new Beastiaries, could probably be revisited.

I might think of more in a bit.

How the rules work around giving GM credit to PCs 'locked' in forum games.

Having said that, I think that people should be realistic that although these topics are visible to us regulars, some of them have limited impact, and there are probably many higher priority issues (and opportunities!) that we don't have visibility of that need attention.

Michael, that's a nice list, but so,e of those seem to be pretty clearly ruled on. What is unanswered or needs clarification on some of those?

Sorry, I missed the, "that you feel are still hotly debated or frequently asked." I hoped that we could get those rulings compiled and/or put in the PFS FAQ rather than have them scattered around the messageboards.

Yeah, a compiliation/FAQ would be nice.

I like the idea of this thread, though Im hoping it can avoid becoming a list of rulings people dont agree with and want Tonya to change it.

I would prefer it if the stuff that was decisively ruled upon was also compiled, so that you can actually read it through and be reasonably sure that you know of all the rulings.
