Magical Weapon Idea

Homebrew and House Rules

hi everyone, My idea is technically two weapons.

two longswords that are treated as light weapons for the purpose of two weapon fighting when used together. for 10 minutes a day, the swords as a move action can be combined to become a great sword. you get an extra attack with this great sword.

so basically, for 10 minutes a day you get two weapon fighting with a great sword without the twf penalty. what do you guys think about this weapon and how much would you price it as.

A greatsword of Speed gives you an extra attack. That is a +3 bonus. If it can be used for only 10 minutes a day, I would price that at a +2 bonus, but only if the duration can not be split up.

I would price one-handed weapon counting as light as a +1 bonus.

so would you say that for the whole shebang, +3 weapon sounds about right?

I imagine it would be two weapons:

1 Longsword of Off-Handedness, +1 bonus
1 Longsword of Merging, +2 bonus: once per day the longsword of merging can combine with another longsword to become a greatsword of Speed for 10 minutes.

that make sense, kind of breaks the whole flavour of the two separate swords being twin swords if they both have completely different enchantments though.
