Ring of Continuation

Advice

Hey :)

Can someone validate for me that a 7th level Wizard could forge this ring and effectively hcast Beast Shape, Elemental Body, or Dragon Form with a duration of 24 hours?

That seems like an awesome investment for 28Kgp

Ring of Continuation: Can you use this to cast time stop with a duration of 24 hours?

This item has had some unintended consequences and needs a fix. Change the second sentence of the description to read as follows:
"Whenever the wearer of the ring casts a spell with a range of personal and a duration of 10 minutes per level or greater, that spell remains in effect for 24 hours or until the wearer casts another spell with a range of personal (whichever comes first)."

Since all of those are 1 min per level, they do not meet the current qualification of 10 min/lvl.

Only if those spells have a duration of ten minutes per level or greater.

It's already been addressed. Sorry. ^_^

Aside from that, the 7th level caster could indeed make the ring.

Keep in mind that if you cast a 10 min/lvl personal spell, and then another personal spell with a shorter duration, you still lose the effect of the ring of continuation.

Given the price and that you lose the benefit of the ring as soon as you cast another personal-range spell, you may want to carefully review the list of buffs you want to run on your character before deciding to get the ring.

They really should have revised the entire wording of the ring so that the ring can extend the duration of any personal-range spell you cast to up to 24 hours, but can only extend the duration of 1 spell at a time and only as long as the ring itself is worn by the caster. As it is, it is too restrictive for me to want it for any of my characters.

Now if you had a Shapechange scroll, you could laugh off all the other buffs and just turn into a giant dragon and wreck things, then turn back into you +2 STR whenever you want for a whole day.

That helped a lot tho, thank you.
I still think having Overland Flight run for 24 hours would be awesome

No, because it was hammered down to reasonable, then beyond that, into the basement and then into the bedrock.

Nerfing it down to 1 minute/level spells (or longer) would have been reasonable. At 10 minutes per level spells or longer, combined with failing to fix the "cast new spells" issue that arises, the ring is borked AND trash.

Doesn't that still allow 24 hour Timestop shenanigans?
