I've been playing by the book, so dying means starting over. (Ok, it could also mean trying again with an unimproved character, but that seems harder.)

I played Raz through it and didn't die but I did run out the deck a few times. I think it took 3 times to get through it.

I don't have Raz, where are they from?

Monk class deck

Y'all should read the blog tomorrow.

(Also, Raz is from the Paladin Class Deck.)

It is natural for people to assume that if a character is awesome, they must be from the monk class deck, since it is known to be the most awesome of all the class decks. I'm surprised these kinds of comments don't show up more often.

I'm still waiting for my Commoner class deck. Because sometimes you just like a challenge, like playing a Tourist in NetHack.

Sovereign Court

Whoops. Was building an RPG Monk, had the class on the brain.

I really want to play a beast-master Commoner; but should I choose the role card for "Pig Farmer" or "Goat Herder"?

Ah, trick question: Commoners can't survive long enough to get role cards.

Try Hunter. She solo's quite well and should be able to handle the base scenarios without too much trouble.

Made it past scenario two with the hunter. All I got out of it was a bat, but cohort plus hand crossbows and a pair of cure spells kept her quite strong.

I've gotten as far as the final base scenario solo.

My Raz is just about to start AP3. I'm just trying to finish my two RotR playthroughs and now I'm starting a SoS play through!

Mmm-hmmm. Longest blog I've ever written.

Nice. Vinst makes a lot more sense in scenario 2 now!

The irritating thing was that I never thought to ask why people weren't using Vinst the way it was intended. And I never looked back to check that it simply wasn't working as intended. That's all on me.

I used him when I tried my solo summoner run just because I had a terrible wisdom/survival check. I still died in the end though.

I saw Vinst as potential useful for these situations, as well as saving yourself from banishing an inordinate amount of weapons (or having no weapons) at the Watchtower.

Current Vinst is awesome.

I can understand that you wouldn't want to just hand people the winning tactic, though. That ruins it more than a little. But the winning tactic really wasn't there.
