Shelyn "like" character build advice

Advice

Hallo everyone,

i was thinking to build an odd character, and i'm having hard time to figure it out.

i'd like to role a devote of Shelyn: the god of Art, beauty, love and music. I was thinking to a sort of cleric/bard/paladin/war priest (whatever), that would fight with a glaive (favorite weapon of his god) and without armor.

can you help me whit something like that?

Anything but third party or only certain books?

If 3rd party products are disallowed, your options are somewhat limited. I am assuming that you want to have a reason not to wear armor and not simply nerf yourself by refusing to protect yourself as best you can.

One option is the Sacred Fist archetype of the Warpriest. Since that archetype does not grant you proficiency with the glaive, your initial feat would have to be Martial Weapon Proficiency (Glaive) to grant you the desired weapon proficiency from first level.

Another option would be to take the Oracle class and select one of the mysteries that would grant a revelation that lets you replace Dex with Cha for AC calculations. As your Cha increases, you will wear ever lighter armor. If you are not actually worshiping Shelyn, you could select the Empyreal lord Arshea as your patron deity and take the Celestial Obedience feat. At 16th level you would be able to use your Cha bonus as an armor bonus in place of actual armor -- and that bonus would stack with the bonus from your oracle revelation. If you take the Mystery Cultist prestige class at the earliest opportunity, you could get this bonus at 13th level instead of 16th level.

A personal favorite of mine is a character a lady in our group did. She was a evangelist cleric of Shelyn on paper but was roleplayed as a famous musical and vocal performer who traveled a lot. Get skills were two performs, profession, perception. She took channel smite an guided hand and basically just helped others rather than trying to dominate the board or be a killing machine. If I recall it was a 10,10,12,13, 16,14 stats. She used aid another actions a lot and combat expertise later for added defense. Good memories. A variation could be dip a monk level and use crusaders flurry.

I'm playing a paladin of Shelyn right now in an IRL Rise of the Runelords game, and having a blast with her (see this alias if you want to read about her history). I do favor lighter armor for the improved aesthetics and grace, but a front line combatant is difficult to do with no armor whatsoever unless you build a monk or brawler, and even then it can be tricky. Bracers of armor would be a big help, but be warned, it's a somewhat expensive way to go.

Also, might I offer another solution? Either glamered armor or Shelyn's thematic armor from Inner Sea Gods fit the "pleasing aesthetic" bill while still giving you some protection.
