Hey everyone!
I just wanted to let everyone reading this thread know that tomorrow (Sunday November 5) I will be participating in a Starfinder game on our Twitch channel to benefit Extra Life. There are games going on all day today and tomorrow, but I will be playing from 6am to 10am pacific time. If you'd like to watch you can find our Twitch channel here.
If you'd like to donate you can do so on the Paizo team page, or my donation page. Donations will be going to the Seattle Children's Hospital.
Thanks for tuning in!

The android was a great take. I could have got into Five’s story too, but the whole “underestimate the kid who then saves the day” bit got a bit overused, IMO.
I lurve androooiiiiid~!
I actually really like Five, as she relates strongly to a character in one of our games named "Techie" which strongly parallels Five in some ways.
(That said, the crew of the Raza is less moral than anyone in our group, even after the mental reboot, and even Five, at least as of Season 2.)

So, Diego, barring that this doesn't make any actual sense (we'll just use "hand-wavium" to make a square peg/round hole fit): if you, in real life, could have the nearest equivalent of 20 levels in a class, but had to have an archetype from a completely different class (again, ignoring specifics; presuppose you get the benefits and rrrroooouuuugggghhhhllllyyyyy equivalent losses) which class and which archetype (from what other class) would you choose?
Similarly, if you gained the equivalent of 20 levels, but ten had to be in a Prestige Class, which class and prestige class?
As a frame of reference, any d20 system more-or-less compatible with PF (including SF, though that brings a whole can of worms itself, the various 3.X, and anything else you think is relevant) is available.

Yeah, season 5 is the best season I think. I would have loved to see a full season 6 though, the show really had some good momentum going. That Ahsoka and Barriss arc is my very favorite of the whole series. Barriss
Almost time for Rebels!
My knowledge of archetypes is really limited, so I don't know how well I can answer this question. Kineticist is my favorite class so I think I would be that (waterbender!) and since my second favorite class I would take an archetype from that so I could be both (but I don't know what most of them are or what they give).
It would be the same for the second question, 10 levels of waterbender and 10 levels of duelist prestige class (I like shadowdancer as well so that would be a close contender).

Sweet!
To be honest, I know (relatively) little about archetypes myself. While I have learned quite a bit about many of them, I rarely have the chance to use them, and my wife (the only player consistently near me in years) actively avoids the vast majority of them.
Did you know that everything sounds funny when your ENT (Ear-Nose-Throat) are packed to the gills? Also that talk-type has no stinkin' clue what you're saying when so stopped up?
EDIT: I got back and edited this i'll buy boat both to give you a big double Bob dust how awful it Gabby
EDIT: and again, on the computer, to translate, "I got came back and edited this i'll buy boat both post on my phone* to give you an big double Bob dust example of just how awful off* it Gabby can be" - frankly, it's better than I expected. I must be getting better!
* No, I have no idea what happened there, either.

Five's arc didn't really go anywhere either. It got a little interesting when we started to learn about her sister, but that kind of petered out. I wonder if they were planning to do more in a 4th season.
I forgot to mention that I also enjoyed Six a lot. He didn't fit with the rest of the crews grey morality so I wasn't surprised when he left, but I really did enjoy him and am glad he was still on the show so much after leaving the ship.

You know, Imm not sure what I was going for, either. Maybe channeling Fry?

Sort of. I won’t be going home for Christmas so I am a little bummed about not seeing my family for the holidays. Hopefully I will be going in January instead. But I am looking forward to the 4 day weekend! 4 days of lounging around doing nothing suits me just fine. Mostly I am looking forward to seeing Star Wars this week!
How about you (and anyone else reading), do you have big, exciting plans for the holidays?

My 'big exciting plan' for Christmas is... sleep.
I work for a retail chain, so the day before will probably be madness, and I may or may not have to turn around and work the day after.
I know, it's not what most people would expect, but still, it's a day off?

I'm sorry to hear about your family - that can always be hard. But I'm happy to hear about the time off! Our plans are flexible - we remain ready just in case we need to hurry north to see my niece - but for the most part, we hope to see my parents (and get to have a movie date with my wife; also see SW with my brother in law and his wife!), then see hers (and maybe get a second movie date!), before collapsing back home! We also have plans for a local TKD Christmas party!

Also, Merry Christmas!
Also, also: what is a favorite video-, computer-, and/or board game you've played? Table top? What about one or more of those youve not played? And what is the best of those you've played or not played?
Note: if you've not played it, you should probably have at least read it or otherwise had enough significant exposure to make an informed opinion... but it's also Okay if you are just a super-fan!
Also: you may not select either SF or PF as favorite or best - we'll just presuppose those are up there somewhere. :D That said, other similar games could count (Blue Rose, True20, 3.5, 3E, and so on are generally "different enough" to qualify, though none are expected answers.

Wei Ji,
I understand completely. Prior to being a customer service rep for Paizo I worked retail for about 18 years. My first job was as a courtesy, and then cashier at my home town grocery store (they have a website now!) all 4 years of high school. After that it was working the customer service desk at CompUSA for a few years. Then starting as a bookseller and ending as the warehouse manager for Borders Books and Music for many years until they liquidated. Half a year or so at Barnes and Noble (they couldn't wait to hire Borders employees because we needed minimal training, but only had part time positions). Then the front end manager at Harbor Freight Tools until I was offered the Paizo position.
At all the companies I worked for Christmas day was the one day in the year the store was closed, but always required working the shifts the day before and after to qualify for holiday pay.
I hope you are able to relax and enjoy your day! Sleep good!

Thank you.
Ours was a bit more restrictive like that in the past, it was required to work the last *scheduled* day before and the first *scheduled* day after.
The emphasis on 'scheduled' is because sometimes managers would try to 'emergency call' someone in and when they couldn't make it (because they'd made plans around their work schedule), they'd try to dock the pay.
Then in 1999 they determined that it wasn't very cost-effective to keep our retail locations open (in part because all the folks who could earn overtime for the holiday were volunteering to work it) ON Christmas.
There were abuses of this 'work the bookends' rule on both sides, and both Corporate and the collective bargaining team came down and said it was unrealistic to penalize associates who were legitimately *ill* and staying home to avoid infecting customers with their illness. Corporate because they didn't want to face legal action from customers, collective bargaining team because it was singling out associates.
Have you ever tried to make a game out of your job?
Not in a disrespectful sort of way, but in sort of a 'Okay, only ten more customers until I *ding* next level', etc sort of way?

Tacticslion,
It sounds like you have a great holiday ahead of you! Good to hear.
Hmm, favorite video game. That is a tie, but my most favorite games of all time are The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Final Fantasy Tactics. There are a whole lot of games I haven't played but want to.
Favorite PC game is likely the Mass Effect trilogy. Same as above for ones I have not played. I am currently wrapping up some story missions in Star Trek Online, but I am keen to play Tides of Numenera afterward (Planescape Torment is also one of my all time favorites). Also super keen on playing Kingmaker!
Board game is X-Men Alert! I have a lot of very fond memories of that. My family used to have board game nights when I was a kid. We alternated who got to pick the game we played each week. When my sister or parents picked we played games like Parcheesi, or Life, or Candyland. When I picked my whole family had to play X-Men Alert! My parents knowledge of the X-Men is almost exclusively from that game. It was fun seeing some of the X-Men movies with them and having them comment about remembering characters from the board game. I am thinking of maybe having an event at PaizoCon this year that is just, "Come Play X-Men Alert! With Diego". I have Star Wars Imperial Assault that I really really want to play, but need someone to play it with. Likewise for Star Trek Ascendancy.
Favorite tabletop RPG is a little harder. I really had a blast with the older Deadlands game. Playing poker to generate characters was really neat, and I loved the skill names, Talkin', Shootin', etc. Tabletop RPGs it is harder for me to find one I want to play as I am generally more keen on the campaign setting than the mechanics.

I'm signing up for X-Men Alert if that's an option!
For the holidays, we're seeing Star Wars next Tuesday. Beyond that, no real plans. The 23rd we have a PFS gameday I'll actually be playing at, but it is sadly not Christmas themed.

Wei Ji,
At the bookstore I used to make little games out of breaking down the pallets, and shelving the books. Stuff like contests to see which letter or section got the most books where I would talk to myself like an announcer, "Another P! P is catching up, but S is still in the lead!", or "Romance only needs 2 more books to catch up to Sci-Fi!". That sort of thing. I don't do it so much now, but that may be because I have 2 awesome coworkers sitting just a few feet away from me that I can chat with and make jokes with throughout the day (often if I was breaking down a pallet I was by myself in the warehouse, or if I was shelving I could interact with customers but was otherwise all by myself in the section).

Terevalis,
Yes! I enjoy posole alone, and with menudo. I often mix red chile into it too. I am going to be making some very soon (dry hominy has been very hard to find here, I find it frozen and swimming in a can everywhere, but nowhere has it dry), and some of my coworkers have never tried it so I will be bringing some to the office. It wouldn't be Christmas without a Christmas day meal of posole, enchilads, and tamales!

TriOmegaZero,
I am super excited to see Star Wars, so that sounds like an excellent holiday plan to me!
I haven't had any events at previous PaizoCons and I really want to (I have run delves, which have been really fun). So I have been thinking about what kind of events I could be in. I feel like there is a lot of Pathfinder, so maybe doing something different could be fun. X-Men Alert! is a lot of fun and easy enough to teach anyone who has never played it. My figures aren't painted though, I am a terrible painter and steady is not a word anyone will ever describe my hand with. But I think it will very likely be on the schedule this year.

Happy new year, Diego. Does this count as a pun?
Q: How do you speak to dead, single ladies?
A: Hold a séancé.

Howdy Tacticslion!
Welcome back! I heard you were away for a while. I hope everything is going well for you.
So far the year is treating me well. Took a week to go visit family back home. Came back and moved to a new, bigger desk. The ACG scenarios I wrote got released (that was super scary but also super awesome)! Outside of that nothing exciting to report. But saying it out loud, that seems like a lot of excitement for just 2 months.

Oh, wow, tts so awesome! Congratulations! Both on the new desk and the publishing! So cool!
The end of December basically ate me alive, followed by the beginnings of January, and the new I’ve been playing catch-up ever since!
I finished a PbP! Woo!
Now I’m planning the sequel. >.>
Also planning a furious two-day spring break game with my wife and three of her coworkers. Building a new world and running for people is intimidating, but fun. Cleaning up the house for company: not so fun. But it needs to start now, ‘cause ugh.
Favorite gift this holiday?
