They already raided my room for women and gold.

They left empty handed.

$18K+ in less than 5 hours. Strong start.

Well I'm in again, it's nice to see the Frogs completing this AP.

Scarab Sages

These huge books make it nearly impossible for me to back because international postage is too expensive. I'm not going to be able to justify spendinh $56 (£36) on postage sadly :(

Whereas I don't mind spending around a third on postage, normal sized hardbacks are often cheaper than the postage here!

Yup, living on a tiny island at the bottom of the world makes most things rather expensive...

I'll be backing this, though. Postage looks like a lot, but if you think of it as a full adventure path and campaign setting, and compare it to what I pay each month for my subscription shipping from Paizo, it's not that bad. At least, that's what I tell myself when I have to live on tins of beans in the second half of each month to fund my RPG purchasing habits...

Scarab Sages

Pathfinder Maps Subscriber

Well, there is an option to back just for the PDF's.

Better than a third of the way there in the first day. Life is good.

Long Live the Frogs...

Yeah since the NZ$ plummeted and shipping increased I've done some PDF only stuff, and just missed out on a lot - but for a book you could kill an elephant with....

Due to my current employment situation this is going to be the first FGG pre-order/Kickstarter going to ToHC/Tsar that I cannot back. Which is a bummer.

That being said I will do what I can to spread the word and make sure this gets funded.

Thanks to all of you. Believe me when I say I have been there and will be soon again.

At the moment, it looks like I'll be backing PDF-only. Much better than nothing, of course, but I was hoping I'd be able to get the hardcover.

Oh well, still extremely excited by this project. Between this, Into the Wintery Gale by AAW, and the Linnorm Kingdoms stuff published by Paizo, I should be well covered as far as viking adventures go.

At less than 24 hours the KS is at $27000+.

Thanks to everyone who has pledged and keep sharing the info.

Nice to see it rise so quickly....

I backed this, but by the time this comes out I might have moved to Alaska by then. Think you guys can take the ferry and drop it off at my house? ;)

200 backers and almost halfway funded in just a few days. Keep spreading the word whether it is by longship, Viking horn or more modern means.

Just $1069 away from the halfway point.

Will there be any VTT support for Northlands? Unlabeled maps? Hi-Res Maps?

We're looking at doing the player friendly maps. Not sure on the final determination yet, but from talking to Bill we acted like he thought we'd be able to get that done by the deadline before we have to finalize it.

As for VTT, hi-res, and other technical questions of that nature, I must defer to Chuck because I am too technologically challenged to give a coherent response. :-)

Thanks, everyone! Almost halfway there!!!!!

Finally got my new credit card, so... backed! Not looking forward to receiving the shipping bill, though...

Sitting at $29900.

Thanks to all the pledgers so far. Keep spreading the word.

Shouldn't that be a Skald?

The PDF will have unlabeled (player) maps. The maps in the PDF won't be hi-res versions, otherwise the file would become unmanageably big for most people. (The PDFs are kept at 150 dpi).

Heck yes...I'm terribly excited about this. I just wished the Ks ran longer than 30 days.

I wanted to back this, but my college student budget just can't take $45 for a PDF right now. Sorry, mates.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Charter Superscriber

Sorry it is taking me so long to pledge, I needed to secure a new contract, so that I could convince my wife to let me back another KS :)

Shortly... very shortly!

Well wishes and prayers are also accepted. Also spreading the word works too.

Thanks, Chuck!!

I like the new look silverhair!

Herald Frog? That looks more like HORROR FROG!

Tomato, potato...

I feel your pain mate. It helps to be sitting down with some whiskey in you to soften the impact.

Am I missing any reference to a player's guide?

It seems to me this project could use one, more than any other FGG kickstarter (well except for Razor Coast, perhaps) since it's outside 'normal' or traditional fantasy assumptions.

Yeah that'd be a better stretch goal than most, I love Player's Guides and you can always charge extra for physical copies :D WIN WIN

Redep!

Essentially about 2/3 of the campaign guide would qualify as player guide (maybe more if the GM didn't mind the players having historical and geographic details). Really the only part of the campaign guide that couldn't conceivably qualify as players guide would be Chapter 5: New Monsters and the Appendix with its extensive encounter tables. As such we'd be looking at something like a 100 page book to do the player's guide right and not have it feel cheap and missing necessary player info (such as races, classes, archetypes, feats, etc.). In addition, it would involve printing an additional book on a project where the book is already very expensive plus with an extremely tight production and printing schedule.

So for economic reasons, time/resource constraints, and the fact that the book already represents its own player's guide, we opted to not produce a separate player's guide.

But, that said, the first chunk of the book is a functionally a player's guide, and a very crunchy one at that, for the reason Steve mentioned above: this is outside the normal fantasy assumptions. As such, it's also outside our normal player's guide parameters and required this much more in-depth treatment for player's guide material.
