I'm hoping to collect all the underground movement questions I have here. Not all burrow and earth glide is equal, so some questions depend on which type and I do know that. I'm mostly trying to figure out what my earth elemental familiar can do for me and apparently these questions have gone without an official answer for awhile now.

1: inventory and held objects
1a. can you take stuff with you with burrow? with earth glide?
1b. does your stuff fill with dirt when you burrow/glide?
1c. can you bring your carried familiar with you with burrow/earth glide
1d. can you drop objects and leave them embedded in solid stone
1e. can you just put something into the ground without going in yourself, like pushing a tower shield into the ground or a long spear?

2: movement
2a. Can you dive into glide-able material to avoid fall damage.
2b. Can a glider move into a giant's boulders before a toss? after?
2c. Do you fall out if someone moves the dirt you are in when gliding?
2d. what is the minimum relative size of a thing you can glide into?
2e. how much fire resistance is required to survive lava
2f. can an earth elemental cut straight through the planet to shorten his journey to the other side by about 2/3rds
2g. Can an earth elemental glide the surface to avoid making noise from foot falls.
2h. At what point should roots be considered a terrain difficulty for earth gliding.

3: combat
3a. Is there a maximum level of cover a glider can take while attacking enemies on the surface?
3b. Can you grapple/bullrush and pull enemies down into the surface with burrow? with earth glide?
3c. does the note that earth glide is like swimming imply that a earth glider can use an underwater crossbow under earth or from above earth into it?
3d. can an earth glider glide through worn armor made of the glideable material?

4: action type
4a. Is earth gliding a conscious act or do you fall into the earth if dropped.
4b. Does paralysis prevent earth gliding or is it purely mental
4c. How much of one's body is dedicated to earth gliding.

I think that's the whole list. If I've forgotten one let me know.

1a: Yes; No.
According to James Jacobs. (From the Ask James Jacobs thread)
2) Yes; assuming it's human shaped, in all the human shape slots. If it's not human shaped, then all the slots that it has that makes sense. It can't carry things with it into solid rock when it earth glides. If it wants to bring its gear with it into the ground, it has to burrow normally without earth glide.

...And thats why I take James Jacobs opinion on rules with a grain of salt. If this were true, than my Oread monk with Oread Earth Glider would have to strip naked and leave his weapon behind (Zen Archer) just to use his feats.

Bump
Earth glide is just poorly defined becuase it has many sources. Most of these questions are left unanswered. From the archives of nethys, the Oracle stone mystery has earth glide as a revelation. It states:
Earth Glide (Su): You can pass through stone, dirt, or almost any other sort of earth except worked stone and metal as easily as a fish swims through water. If protected against fire damage, you can even glide through lava. You glide at your base land speed. While gliding, you breathe stone as if it were air (you do not need to hold your breath). Your burrowing leaves behind no tunnel or hole, nor does it create any ripple or sign of your presence. A move earth spell cast on an area where you are flings you back 30 feet, stunning you for 1 round unless you succeed on a DC 15 Fortitude save. Activating this ability is a free action. You can glide for 1 minute per day per oracle level. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1-minute increments. You must be at least 7th level to select this revelation. You can bring other creatures with you when you glide, but each passenger costs an additional minute per minute of travel.
Taking objects with you is now questionable because of that definition. I've searched through a lot of material both online and pdf books with each giving too little or conflicting descriptions. It seems me at the end, let the GM decide. However, defined rules make gaming easier.
