Online GMing

Advice

So, I want to run one of paizo's APs that I got via their AP subscription service. What online mediums are good that let me make use of all these tools they give me? The interactive maps look like a great tool, but I have no idea how to make them available for players online to see

roll20.net: Free, requires no software download. You need to pay a subscription if you want to use dynamic lighting, though.

Maptools: Completely free, and has better features and a more robust macro system than roll20.net. But it requires a software download and runs into a lot of compatibility and tech issues, in my experience.

Or you can do them here on the Paizoboards!

Recruiting is so easy here!

I'm currently in a roll20.net game. We use google talk for our videoconferencing and roll20 as a built-in app. It works quite well. Also, Obsidian Portal works REALLY well for planning, communication, etc.

I'm quite fond of running PBEMs out of Yahoo Groups, myself. There's space for cast photos, file area for maps and whatnot. I usually pull the maps into Photoshop and black out the areas the PCs haven't been in, though.

If you want an additional website with a wiki, Obsidian Portal is pretty good.
