I've received a number of asks for this, so I'm proud to announce that the Random Treasure Generator (updated with UE) I've been promising for so long is finally live. So far I've included five different types of generation, but more can be pretty easily added as the needs arise.

All areas use Ultimate Equipment for the various available treasures. Otherwise...

City Treasure: Uses the Core Rulebook/Gamemastery Guide rules for what magic items are available in the various sized communities.
Encounter Treasure: Uses the Ultimate Equipment's various "Type" tables for generating appropriate treasure based on CR.
Kingdom Treasure: For Kingmaker, produces a number of Minor/Medium/Major items, using the Core Rulebook's percentages for types.
Treasure by Type: Input the exact quantity of each item you want, and out it comes.
Treasure by Value: Input a GP budget for each area (Minor/Medium/Major) and get some random items. Uses the Core Rulebook's percentages for types.

As a plus, the value of everything is displayed with the item, along with other miscellaneous information (does the weapon glow?). I am still missing a few other bits that could go in, which I would like to address later. There is a percentage chance that a weapon/armor could be made of a special material, which right now doesn't happen (with the exception of specific items in the Specific Weapon/Armor tables, like mithril shirt). Additionally, while the tool will let you know if an item should be Intelligent, it won't do any other leg work. I couldn't find a decent table to fully generate an Intelligent item (the ones in the Core book and UE do have some random tables, but not for everything, like statistics). Of course, I may have just been blind and missed some obvious bits for it. In any event, that part will be in later.

Otherwise, all items/spells/etc. should be fully hyperlinked to their respective entries in the Archives. If something isn't linking properly or otherwise broken, please let me know! This is definitely one of the larger projects I've worked on, and while I have done a lot of testing there is always something one person can miss.

Enjoy!

AWESOME!!!!!!!

Wow, this is frickin awesome, I've been looking for something like this for a while now. Thank you so much for doing this!

Your generator is clear, concise, easy-to-read, comprehensive, and adaptable to exactly what I wanted: sizes of towns and sizes of encounters.

Thank you, Karui. :)

I'd like to add that this pretty much curtails the "Magic Mart" mentality in the game if used correctly; each village, town, city etc. has [THIS RESULT] for sale. "Want Pearls of Power? Well WE AIN'T GOT 'EM! Come back next week!" "Need a scroll of Remove Curse in a hurry? Sorry pal! I'll check in the back though...! Ohh..I have one left. This is your lucky day!"

Exactly! Never again will my players (or yours) be unsure of what is in town. If under the GP limit, a simple 75% d100 roll will tell. If over, *click*, check the list.

Simplicity, accessibility, and ease of use has driven my site so far, and it is my fondest hope that this tool follows suit.

Great work, K. Thank you for sharing.

Dark Archive

Seriously Kage, Great job!

I've been using the Nethys Archives for a few years now and now, overnight, it just got 5x better and easier to use/navigate.

Keep up the good work!

Thank You so Much!!

This is going to save me a LOT of dice rolling.

Paizo - Give this person a job - or at the very least some Swag!! Seriously this SO much help!!

One gripe: You're assuming too much screen.

I'm running 1280x1024 but with the bookmark pane open and that page causes a horizontal scrollbar.

Awesome work! Sorry in advance for the poor quality of grammar... I noticed some kind of error. I know how complex this generator is, but there is somthing that is isnt working properly in the Encounter Generator. Ive done some tests with a lvl 9 encounter, normal treasure for humanoid. 1/10 of the time, the treasure is middly accurate. When i say middly, its like 200 gp under, never over. But then, when it gets to treasure made from small items, like potions, gems, coin or even armor in some case, the difference between the starting budget and the displayed items price is 2000 gp off. Am i doing somthing wrong?

Thanks ! Awesome work!

Awesome! Thank you!

Hi!
We're very glad to say thanks, great work!
I will use it in our Games, thanks again, a lot.

Maybe im bringing to life this old post, but there is something that we want to comment...
We have only one suggestion. After that, a comment:
In our former (And currently) 16 years as a GameMaster we have seen a lot of very good material and aportations like yours, but when time pass some of them simply disappear on the sands of time, their online nature make them perishable...

Im very sorry to ask this, because i don't know the amount of work/effort that's needed. Me bad.

But this generators can be executed offline or on windows, or can be downloaded to save them from the sands of time, and have an excellent memento of your hard work??

Thanks a lot!

Awesome generator :)

I have one minor concern, when trying to create items for a large city, all the minor items comes up as weapons. I tried it five times in a row and they came up as weapons every time.

This is really cool. Thank you for all your hard work. I do have a suggestion for City Treasure. Settlement base value can be modified by settlement qualities, so it would be great to be able to enter in a base value instead of choosing a settlement size. Magnimar, for example, has a base value of 12,800 according to Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition. I don't see a way to generate treasure for it using this tool.

Thread, I dot thee!

Nice.

I've thought about turning this into an offline program, and I don't think it would be terribly difficult. I need to update the Kingmaker area to account for the new UC rules, but might work on an offline version next. :)

This is definitely something I've thought about adding, it's a good idea. I'll work on it once I have a bit more free time. :)

This is due to the base value of a large city, that being 8,000 GP. The rules say that you should re-roll any random items generated that are below the base value, as these items are to represent things above the norm that you can find. As it turns out, the primary way (may actually be the only way) to get a minor item over 8,000 gp is for it to be a weapon (+2 weapons being 8,300 + weapon cost).

Edit: Did some checking, that's the reason. Minor items can be Armor/Shields, Weapons, Potions, Rings, Scrolls, Wands, and Wondrous Items.

Armor/Shields: Will be a +1 or +2 armor, 4,150 GP + armor cost. Minor specific armors don't go over 3,300 gp.
Weapons: Can be +2 weapons, which go over 8,000 gp.
Potions: Doesn't go over 8,000 gp.
Rings: Most expensive minor ring is 3,000 gp.
Scrolls: Not going over 8,000 gp.
Wands: Not going over 8,000 gp for minor wands.
Wondrous Items: Wondrous Items become Medium after 8,000 gp.

So, yeah. The only way to get a Minor item over 8,000 gp is with weapons, so when that's what your base value is, it's going to roll lots of weapons. :)
