Disarm Fighter Archetype

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16

Is there a fighter archetype that is centered around disarm? Or failing that one that is centered around combat manuevers in general?

Thanks for your help.

Lore Warden

Scarab Sages

Lore Warden, although a Rogue with the Weapon Snatcher advanced talent is better at it.

I'm a fighter, but every other class is better at doing what I do ^^

Lore warden may be your best choice if you are looking to boost your maneuver chances.

If you want to further optimize this, you have to of course take the improved and greater disarm, then you can add directed disarm to get extra benefits with the maneuver. If you are using a good crit weapon, you can pick up disarming strike as well.

If you want extra bonuses, you can use a whip for an extra +2, gauntlets of skilled maneuver for yet another +2 and a wayfinder with a dusty rose prism for again another +2.

Using a weapon, any bonus you get with it is also applied, so weapon focus and magic weapons help you as well.

Finally, if you want to make use of weapon finesse and make this a dedicated Dex character, consider taking a 3 level dip into unchained rogue for free Dex to hit and damage with your weapon of choice (as long it is finessable)

A quick build could look like this:

Rogue 1 Weapon finesse, Exotic weapon proficiency (whip)
Rogue 2 Talent: Weapon focus (whip)
Rogue 3 Finesse training, whip mastery
Figher 1 Combat reflexes
Fighter 2 Combat expertise, Improved disarm
Fighter 3 Improved whip mastery
Figher 4 Greater disarm

This build takes a little to come to life, but once it does, it grants you a great chance of disarm any enemy regardless of the dice result.

Taking a look at the numbers here, assuming a 20 Dex, you will have:

Base attack +6 Dex +5 Weapon focus +1 Whip disarm bonus +2 Maneuver mastery bonus +2 = +16 Disarm CMB

You can further improve this with the gauntlets and the dusty rose, as well as a Cracked pale green prism (+1 competence to attacks) and a +1 magic weapon.

Those are perfectly affordable by this level, and with all of the above you find yourself with a +22 on your disarm attemps, a reach of 15 feet and threatening area of 10 for you AoO (which can be disarm attemps).

If you don't want to dip into rogue or don't want to focus so much on dexterity, invest on your strenth and go full fighter (Lore warden as well)
