I have a PFS brawler that plans on wearing a +1 brawling chain shirt as soon as he can, and this I would assume is standard. My thought was to wear a brawling armored kilt along with the chain shirt because I believe both are light armor before you combine them. Is there any problem with this? If not, spending a feat on medium armor proficiency seems well worth it to gain +4 to my attack and damage.

This doesn't work for two reasons:
1: Brawling's bonus is untyped, but the source of of the bonus is the brawling enchantment. Two bonuses from the same source don't stack.
2: Brawling only functions on light armor. When you add an armored kilt to light armor, it becomes medium armor, and thus any enchantment that requires light armor stops functioning as long as you are wearing the kilt and the light armor at the same time.
Edit: and I missed this was for PFS, as BBT states, they are not PFS legal.
