Two questions about Searing Flesh

1) Searing flesh states that whenever you accept burn while using a fire wild talent, the surging flame causes searing flesh to deal double its current amount of damage for one round.

So because searing flesh is classified as a wild talent with the fire subtype. Does this mean that if you accept a point of burn to increase its current damage, the act would then trigger searing flesh's surge for either that round or the next one?

2) Is it possible for searing flesh to destroy your clothes and items since it can deal damage to weapons even though it probably won't get past their hardness?
