I am looking for a Chronicle Sheet with a Chakram as a buyable equipment.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Hi all,
My sister in law has a character based on Xena, the warrior princess, and she wants a Chakram for more roleplaying, until this moment she wears an starknife as a throw weapon but she wants a real chakram. Her character is core campaign for this reason we are looking for an scenario whose chronicle sheet has a chakram as a buyable equipment because chakram is non core option...

Thanks for your help!!

1. I've never seen any and 2. see this thread if you want to predict what this will devolve into.

See this thread.

A starknife is more like the big lug Xena somehow ricochets to'n'fro than the traditional weapon.

Grand Lodge

Well, it doesn't hurt to tell you, that there is no current Chronicle with a Chakram.

Ok.
@Joey Ducey we want gming and play the scenario if not she ask herself in the forum, but thanks for the advice, but many GMs do this.

Couple of 3.0/3.5 sources if they help. Arms and Equipment Guide pages 6-7 - Chakram (Exotic) Small, 15 g.p., 1d4 damage, X3 Crit., 30 foot range, 2 lb., slashing. Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting page 97 - same statistics. Unsure if there is a pathfinder equivalent.

I distinguish between a player asking for advantageous loot, versus a home-campaign GM looking for good Chronicles to present to one of his frequent players.

Ngrundir Skagerrak, as people have written, chakrams haven't appeared on any Chronicle sheets, so you have encountered bad luck today. In the future, if you look for something else, you should post your question in the GM sub-forum, and you should continue to make clear that you are not the player.

I thank you for taking your time to help your sister-in-law enjoy Pathfinder Society.

There is a chronicle out there with:

+1 flaming bracelet chakrams (treat as shuriken; quantity of 50; 8,310 gp)

I'm not against you asking at all, just a heads up.

Chakram is pretty unlikely to appear on sheets. They are an always available item in standard so there's no need for it to be on the sheet.

And before anyone asks, it's *extremely* unlikely they will revise all the Chronicles to add all the non-Core-but-always-available items in scenarios to the Chronicles.

Might not hurt to request a "Core Scenario Access Document", something like the Secondary Success Conditions document, for older scenarios, to let the GM know what to write into the chronicle for a Core game for additional access....

He's looking for one on a Chronicle Sheet.

No clue on a chronicle sheet, but I know that the item can be found in these current books: Adventurer's Armory, Advanced Players Guide, Ranged Tactics Toolbox, Ultimate Equipment.

That sounds pretty great, especially since it could allow access to some nonmagical exotic weapons.

Honestly, I was pretty stoked to see some good non-magical, non-core gear on a season 6 chronicle for core campaign assistance. Unfortunately, not that much support for this sort of thing just yet.

There is a Chainsaw and Laser Pistol.

They are, but they're chronicle sheet loot because they're unique items.

The chronicle sheets are (so far) written for the regular campaign, not core. A plain old chakram is always available, so it doesn't need to be on a chronicle sheet. Newer sheets are spending LESS stuff on loot that people already have access to by the time they get there.

Yet it is also good to be reminded that there are folks in the Core campaign who are on the lookout for fairly basic items on Chronicle sheets. I don't know that there's a clean opportunity in upcoming scenarios to include a chakram, Ngrundir, but if I spot one, I'll keep you and your sister-in-law in mind.

John, is Kinevon's idea upthread workable?

Related: couldn't we use such a document for chronicle errata?

Which are not legal sources in the Core Campaign.

Could you take the Exotic Proficiency feat, for a weapon, not available in CORE, as a CORE PC, even if you don't have the weapon, yet?

Sczarni 5/5 5/55/5 ***

No.

You'd need the weapon as an option on a Chronicle Sheet for it to pop into existence, first.

I believe it's covered in the Stickied thread over in the Core Forum.

Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Forum Ninja) is always available, though.

I missed the core in his post, so that's my bad!

IMHO: this will cause more problems than it is worth. Core at it's base is massively stripped down PFS - Restricted rules. This would increase the rules available/usable/seen at Core Tables. We would likely start getting "rules creep" as more and more things get to be "accessible" in Core.

...and I am embarrassed to admit that part of the appeal of Core to me is that this weapon is not in Core. It is an unrealistically overpowered weapon in PFS. I have called it the "spiked chain" of PFS...so I was very happy to realize that it WASN'T available in Core... and I am a little ashamed of myself for feeling that way.

4/5

FWIW, I can't actually think of a scenario where any NPC wields a chakrum. Usually, I'm the only person at the table who has one or has even heard of them.

Silver Crusade 4/5

Thanks to all for your answers, if there is no chronicle sheets with chakram there is not a problem for us. She continues playing with her warrior princess Xena Aka with her starknife!!

You chose core, you live with core.

For future reference, there IS a dedicated forum for Core discussion.

Might cause less confusion.
