Sure, we're lazy. But it'd help save a lot of time if there was a button next to the Blessed ∅ that marked the post as Spam.
The icon could be some sort of small tin.
You can't see an individual post without entering the thread. The kind of button you're talking about would label an entire THREAD as spam.
I agree that it would be a useful action affordance, but it would be something of a blunt instrument. "Handle with care."
To mirror I think Jiggy in another thread...This could lead to threads people don't like being marked as spam just because they don't like the thread.
We're unlikely to implement something like this for reasons similar to those above. Hang tight, we have more spam hammer improvements in the hopper that'll be available soon to squish the spam.

Ah got it. I figured maybe the button could be enabled only when a certain posts/minute threshold was passed, or something. But auto-spamhammer turrets would be good too!!

Then again, most of the spam we are getting is in the form of new threads that we can identify as spam just from the thread titles.
