I think the changes in the errata were definitely justified but didn't I think go quite far enough.
Quite simply... I see the Arcanist as an uber-geek, obsessed with the inner workings of spells and having little time for physical pursuits (much like the real life geek!). The equivalent of the IT hacker nerd (sorry if I offend anyone!)
Thus... I think to truly be a hybrid class of Wizard and Sorceror, its spell save DC's should be CHA based. This ties in with its exploits being CHA based.
I know this would mean fewer points available for physical stats but I see it as a good power balancer and thematically appropriate considering the class concept. As well having 2 casting stats is not unusual.
Thoughts...??

The biggest concerns I have had about the Arcanist are the counter exploits and the quick study exploit. I haven't DMed for the player since the change to only consume a limited number of spells per day into arcane points, but those didn't seem to see other changes.

I hate how my Eldritch Font Arcanist got murdered by this errata... Now, unless you have REDICULOUSLY high CHA, his ability to have more spell slots to devour is pointless... since in order to get the extra CHa ou need to lower your int...which effectly negates the whole advantage of extra spell slots...

Harsh... at least give it +4 skill points per level....
