Good news. Steelheart is a YA book by Brandon Sanderson. For a YA it is really solid, with an interesting premise, reasonably good story and action, and some awesome twists.
Also, it should be really easy to adapt to the screen. It is already written like a smart popcorn movie in book form anyway, so reverting it to its natural state shouldn't be too hard.
Looking forward to it, if it does indeed end up happening.
