Airship vs Dragon aerial combat?

Rules Questions

Hi Folks,

I'm going to be running a large aerial combat between airships with cannons & dragons in my Kingmaker campaign soon.

Problem is I'm not sure on what rules to use.

I have Ultimate Combat & Ultimate Campaign (along with ultimate Battles & War from Legendary Games), however I'm not really sure if there's a unified set of rules or what rules I should use. I feel that the mass combat rules in Ultimate Campaign are too generic.

So does anybody have any ideas, or has anybody run something similar in the past?

Thanks,
Jim.

I'm unfamiliar with any specialty rules for something like this, but I think perhaps the best method would be to stat up the airships as if they were creatures except they have no actions of their own e.g. the cannons cannot be fired without PCs/NPCs using their actions to do so and the attack roll is based of their stats with some additional modifiers from the ship.

Just using a ridiculous example let's look at a cat. If it were a ship then it would have those statistics, except one PC/NPC is needed to activate a claw, another for the second claw, a third for the bite, and a fourth for movement.

I was sure Ultimate War had rules for aerial battles including with airships, and you should be able to treat each dragon or group of dragons as it's own army (or unit).
