Organized Play Coordinator Job Search

Pathfinder Society

Paizo Employee Publisher, Chief Creative Officer

Folks,

As many of you know, our current Organized Play Coordinator, Mike Brock, will be moving on to another job outside Paizo shortly after Gen Con. Mike has done a fantastic job coordinating the international Pathfinder Society campaign, and we are very sad to lose him.

However, the show must go on, and that means we're currently on the hunt for a new Organized Play Coordinator.

We've just posted the job listing here on paizo.com. Please take a look!

At this moment, we are limiting applicants to folks who have Venture-Officer experience, or who have at least 2 years of professional experience running an organized play campaign for a major game company.

Pathfinder Society is one of Paizo's most important programs, and it is very important to me that the new coordinator comes from "within the ranks," as someone who understands the campaign's infrastructure and the important role that volunteers play in making it such a success.

Please join me at Gen Con to give Mike Brock a hearty send-off and a round of applause for a job very well done.

After that, we'll have a new captain at the helm. Maybe that new captain is YOU!

Thanks for making this known Erik.

I will be eager to see who steps up the plate and ends up donning the Mask as Decemvirate! I am sure whoever it is will do a great job and expand upon the amazing foundation Mike Brock laid.

Best of luck to the next person, but there is a likely low probability the next OP Coordinator will be able to even maintain what is there now. I can only think a handful of folks capable, and most of them do not meet the requirements listed on the posting.

Beyond the Venture Officer or running another organized play campaign requirement I've known quite a few people in the industry who could do the job. Not sure if any want to move to Redmond.

I'm sure they will find a suitable candidate inside the VO ranks though and promoting from within is always a good thing.

I thought this would be decided with a ping pong tournament... TO THE DEATH.

If they can't find someone appropriate in their first pass, I expect they'll expand their search criteria.

I suspect so as well. I think they are looking for someone who cannot only keep what was built int he last few years, but expand upon it. So, I would prefer a very thorough search. I would not be surprised if Mike Brock has some advice to give to his successor and advice for the search.

"...or who have at least 2 years of professional experience running an organized play campaign for a major game company."

I guess that leaves out amateur (unpaid) experience running an organized play campaign for a major game company.

:)
