Homebrew and House Rules

Figured in would post this here to credit goes to Trajan_ and darthmarth28
For making the archatype.

Here's the archatype. arcane fist.

What do you guys think? Good? Bad? Playable?

A.) Wrong forum- you want homebrew, as far as I can tell (EDIT: unless I am misunderstanding your original line- it is a bit too short to tell- sorry if I got this wrong; If this is just usage advice, then I am still fairly sure it should go to homebrew, but I am fuzzy on that).
B.) Eh- a magus could already go with a cestus if they want to be punchy. With arcane deed, it only loses out to rapiers and other 18-20 weapons for basic use really.

Now, for actual commentary- What are you trading away for your abilities?

The unchained version of flurry of blows (which- mind you- NO OTHER CLASS GETS) is fairly powerful, and it would make a fantastic TWF option when you don't have the spells for spell combat (since you could 2 hand with it). That would turn the magus from a nova character to a constant DPR class...that still has the same ability to nova with spell combat.

The only acceptable trade for that would be to remove spell combat. You list spell combat as traded...but effectively, it is not, since you can still cast a spell as part of your flurry of blows. In fact, I would say it is upgraded since it now lacks the 'no two handed weapons' clause, and it also removes the -2 penalty usually associated with spell combat.

So effectively, you simply upgraded magus with the best mechanics of another class, in order to solve one of its core problems. As far as balance goes, I can't say it does much.

If I was to improve the balance, I would simply say you can cast a second spell with normal spell combat, and it must be below a certain spell level (such as a cantrip). It gives you an extra hit, which makes it more like original flurry of blows/TWF (..and you can stillg get a lot of damage with arcane deed [precise strike] with that ability.)

EDIT- Since I am unclear whether you are part of the people who made this, or just someone that found it and wanted to know if it is good, let me say- yes, it is powerful. Enough that I might question allowing it if I was the gm. If you are allowed to use it, then only allow your conscience and judgment over whether it makes you outshine other players prevent you (if everyone else is using stuff that is a tad overpowered, then feel free).

Sorry I was unaware of the homebrew forum. How would I go about moving this board over there?
