Huge or Tiny Weapon Prices?

Rules Questions

Grand Lodge

In the core rulebook, prices are given for small, medium, and large weapons.

PRD wrote:

Cost: This value is the weapon's cost in gold pieces (gp) or silver pieces (sp). The cost includes miscellaneous gear that goes with the weapon, such as a scabbard or quiver.

This cost is the same for a Small or Medium version of the weapon. A Large version costs twice the listed price.

I am wondering if there are rules or a FAQ that describe the prices of weapons that are larger than large or smaller than small.

I know there is a table for the prices of all sizes of armor, but does an equivalent one exist for weapons somewhere?

As far as I'm aware there is no such rule, so it's up to the GM how much they cost.

The text didn't make it into the Core Rulebook.

For homegames, pricing weapons in the same way you price armor is probably fair and balanced.

For PFS it's a well-known limitation. There are many threads like this where other options have been discussed. Luckily there is now a weapon enchantment, and a magical item, that can resize weapons beyond small/medium/large.

I'd just say every step away from Small/Medium (no matter what direction) is double the price.
So Large/Tiny is 2x, Huge/Diminutive 4x etc.

While for larger weapons you need far more material and that justifies the increase in price, for smaller weapons you need far more delicate craftmanship (aka more time)

In a world where tiny people use tiny weapons, you probably have (adorable) tiny craftsmen who have no problem with the delicate work.

Oh that's true, I was assuming a medium/small craftsman.
If you go into a settlement with tiny people (or to a tiny smith), then tiny would be the baseline, and medium would cost 2x.

It all needs some sort of handwaving though, we don't want a 100% logical economic simulation.

Does this apply to the
Msw part? Is a huge MSW shield the cost of shield *4 + msw *4? or just shield *4 + msw.
Is it comparable? Also how do special materials apply? is it still the flat rate if it is like adamantine or is that a *4? I figure the by weight is still by weight.

Is enchanting the same price?

Only the base item's price is changed. A mwk weapon is +300 and mwk armor is +150 gp no matter what the size. Similarly special materials that have a flat rate listed for weapons/armor/whatever keep that rate. It's not really any less realistic than a Medium adamantine dagger and greatsword having the same cost for the adamantine component.

Enchanting is also the same price.

I like this answer. On the Tiny weapons? Well, yes, there are likely Tiny weaponsmiths, but they are probably not going to sell their wares at normal prices to you, you freaking giant. That halfling wants to lord her height over me, she can pay double!
