For stalkers, Hidden strike states "Starting at 1st level, the stalker vigilante gains the ability to deal 1d6 extra precision damage on melee attacks (or ranged attacks from within 30 feet) against foes who are unaware of his presence (or who consider him an ally)."
Now, sniper allows you to use hidden strike at any distance. So if someone was using a distance composite longbow firing from the dark at, say, a thousand feet, how long is the target considered unaware of his presence? The target knows that there is somebody out in the darkness firing arrows in his direction, but he cannot know where the archer is shooting from or who he is.
So, does unaware mean the target not knowing he is being attacked, or does unaware mean not knowing where or who is attacking him?

Unaware of his presence means that the target is unaware the the vigilante is present. This is different from being able to pinpoint the location. Note, though, that with, for instance, rapid guerrilla strikes followed by stealthy retreats, it may be possible to pursue multiple ambushes in quick succession.

Let's take an example from a recent scenario.
Our Stalker has successfully moved stealthily from one stop to another within striking distance of an NPC, attacked and gained hidden strike damage. The Stalker does so and the NPC dies, however the Stalker still has concealment from the other NPCs present and there's a full part of Pathfinders.
Given that the Stalker is still concealed and that there's lots of noisy distractions present, is it reasonable to consider the other NPCs to be unaware of the Vigilante's presence for the purposes of Hidden Strike?

There's a convenient Stalker Talent "Silent Kill." If you don't take it then everyone around gets to make a DC -10 (yes that's a negative DC) on a 1d20 + x perception check to notice that bob is dead and have awareness of your stalker. Alternatively you can take it and everyone can make a DC (your stealth check -5) perception check to notice that bob is dead and have awareness of you. If they fail and you can continue mercing them until they make their check.

You and about 50 of your army buddies set up camp for the night. Later that night, an arrow flies out of the darkness and kills a guard. You get ready for battle but nothing happens, so most of you go back to bed. Several minutes (or hours) later another arrow comes flying out of the darkness.
How much time has to pass before it counts as another hidden strike? They are aware that someone was out there shooting at them. Is he still out there? Did he leave? If the arrow that came out of the darkness is from another stalker, does he get the hidden strike?

I will like to state that this is not a straight dc of -10 but just a base you also have to calculate distance and objects(such as walls and doors) in the way.
There is always a possibility that you can get away unheard.

You're ignoring the MOST important question for that scenario... WTF is wrong with your army buddies???
You get killed from a mysterious arrow and they all just get ready for battle and then go back to bed?? They better be sending out scouting parties looking for the person who killed you and probably moving camp too...
Not good buddies to have, if you ask me.
;)

Mark said it counts as a hidden strike so long as the 50ish army buddies don't know definitively (are unaware of) if you're there or not. So basically as long as you're still hidden.
