1 person marked this as a favorite.

After having checked to see if there was interest, I've decided to go ahead and start looking for players.

Battles and maps would be handled through Roll20, which I have a middling skill in handling. People would post their actions on the Play-By-Post, and I'd move the pieces respectively so that people'd know where each character/creature were located in relation to one another.

Character Creation Rules:

- 20 point buy
- Gestalt Rules in Effect
- No Evil Characters
- Paizo published content only. All PFS-legal materials permitted, other content subject to GM approval.
- In addition to currently legal PFS races, aasimar, tieflings, ifrit, undine, oread, sylph and kobolds are permitted as well.
- Starting with a Masterwork Backpack and 200 GP in starting equipment (the Masterwork Backpack does not count against this limit).

Application Rules:

- Please give your character name, race, gender, age, the two classes (including any and all archetypes) you will be gestalting as, and what party role you will be aiming to fill as you build the character and advance in levels.
- Please provide a link to a Mythweaver's Character Sheet.
- Please give an explanation for why your character is taking a ride by covered wagon to Fort Inevitable in the River Kingdoms. Fort Inevitable is a Hellknight Outpost on the Crusader's Road near the legendary Emerald Spire, an ancient Azlanti ruin. It is a bastion of law and order in the typically unruly River Kingdoms, and is a common stop on the way to Mendev to join the crusade against the demonic World Wound.

Dotting for interest :) Full application soon. Yay superdungeon!

Updated to 20-point buy. Will add equipment, campaign hook, and Mythweavers sheet when I get a chance.

Are you using traits/drawbacks?

Two traits.

How would you feel about a Kineticist? The book is almost out, and likely would be before we got far enough to need to make too many changes.

The site (or any other place on the internet) isn't letting me download the old playtest, so I have no way of being able reference the rules elements at my own leisure.

So unfortunately as much as I'd like to in this instance, the answer is no.

Dotting. I am tempted to make an Investigator/Slayer to fill the "rogue role" (ie, skill monkey, traps and locks) with a strong burst once studied strike and sneak attack come into play. Extracts will provide some measure of buffing utility, as well.

I'm building a dwarf stonelord paladin / inquisitor.

I would like to submit Dorin Ironbars, Dwarven Fighter / Warpriest. He is Male, 58 years old and a devoutee of Torag. He is travelling to Fort Inevitable on his way towards Mendev. He believes it is his calling to move to the front and smith weapons for the Crusades.

Eventually I would like to build Dorin in to the position of Healer / Crafter for the party.

(The version of Dorin in the profile is not the updated version but an old version. The Mythweavers sheet is up to date however)

Dorin Ironbars

I thought about it, and I'm making a Sorcerer/Slayer to fill a blaster rogue. A few of his spells will focus on blasting multiple enemies like burning hands, fireball, lightning bolt, but most of his spells will focus on sneaking around and maneuverability. Like Disguise self, silence, Invisibility, etc. This rogue, will be all about sneaking into places, going into areas disguised, producing absolutely no noise when moving through an area, not being seen at all. He won't be able to disable traps, he is not that kind of a rogueish character. In combat, he can do the following, move up and burning hands a couple of enemies, turn invisible to get to the back lines if necessary, and get in my sneak attack while invisible. Use a maneuverability spell of some sort to get around a dozen enemies to flank with the fighter, whether that be increasing my speed so that I can move all the way around easily, or teleporting to the other side of the enemy so I don't have to provoke Aoo's.

If you want to know the ratio of spells or a general idea of what my spell list might contain, you can bet this guy will have 1 blast spell per spell level, or none at all if that spell level does not have any blast spells. And the rest of the spells will be ones that help the rogue be more of a rogue, jump, expeditious retreat, vanish, disguise self, invisibility. You would never expect to see Bears Endurance spell, false life, or summon monster from him. Although you might see Cat's Grace from him to increase all of his dex skills, hit chance and damage output.

The link you have seems to be broken, as it directs me to an error screen with "Uh Oh! It would seem you got directed to a sheet that doesn't exist!"

@ DoubleGold, JoshB, Friend_Computer, Kwale, and the Archlich:

I look forward to seeing all of your full applications.

Dorin

Seems to be fixed now. Sorry bout that.

Alright, now the link works. I'll look it over, see if anyone else is going to be planning to build into that role, and then give you my final answer.

Dotting for interest.

Will this be for PFS credit?

Considering a Rogue(unchained)/Arcanist - skill monkey extraordinaire with solid arcane backing.

Will think up what else later today.

It is not for PFS credit.

What is the Dungeon floor made of? I ask this, because I'm thinking about one of the elemental or genie based bloodlines. If I pick Earth Elemental or Shaitan bloodlines, will my level 15 special movement be useless?

If you're interested, one of us could send you the relevant playtest, etc.

The dungeon is exclusively underground, but each level generally runs with a theme. Most of the dungeons have an artificial stone floor. What's more, the campaign likely will not go up to level 15. It tends to end around 12-14.

Very interested, will be submitting a character tonight.

If you're still taking applications, I'd like to throw my hat into the ring.

I'd like to submit Petros the Witchboy. A 'Jadwiga', born one of the border towns of the Land of the Linnorm Kings towns who, after an accident which injured his former master, has fled his home.

Through equal parts luck and his burgeoning powers as a witch, Petros managed to stumble upon a Varisian Caravan traveling south from Trollheim. He quickly fell in love with travelling and has spent the last few months going from place to place, making what he can to assist the caravans he joins. He has joined the trip to Fort Inevitable primarily because it stands far from his original home, and he hopes to stay away from the Land of the Linnorm Kings for the rest of his days.

Link to Mythweavers

Thank you in advance for any response.

What party role do you plan to take Petros towards? From the looks of the sheet, a general buffer/support?

Ms. Pleiades wrote:

Yes, that would be my preferred role for the character.

Dot. Working on a Aasimar Alchemist//Paladin.

Hmmm. My computer doesn't seem to be able to display the Mythweavers sheets. Does anyone know of somewhere else where I can find sheets in the same format?

Also, are you eliminating item creation feats like the alchemist's Brew Potion, like PFS does?

You'll have to register with Mythweavers to get a log-on and password.

Also, I'll allow item creation feats.

If there is time, I will put forth a Magus (Black Blade / Kensai) / Alchemist (Vivisectionist)

- Please give your character name, race, gender, age, the two classes (including any and all archetypes) you will be gestalting as, and what party role you will be aiming to fill as you build the character and advance in levels.

Primarily melee support and arcane support. His spell list will be a lot of offensive spells, because it is a limited list. He will be very light armored, so pretty vulnerable to start, until the party gets some crafting going. Also with alchemical crafting a possibility, he can hopefully make something out of useful ingredients he can find.

- Please provide a link to a Mythweaver's Character Sheet.

link will come once i get the sheet together

- Please give an explanation for why your character is taking a ride by covered wagon to Fort Inevitable in the River Kingdoms. It is a bastion of law and order in the typically unruly River Kingdoms, and is a common stop on the way to Mendev to join the crusade against the demonic World Wound.

He is advancing to the front line to test his mettle in combat against the demonic forces. Even if he can't get in a mercenary company, he knows he will at least be able to find good alchemicals from the bodies of the slain demons, once rendered properly.

Ms. Pleiades: Yeah, I did that. The issue was that I was using a Chromebook, and for some reason it couldn't display the graphics of the sheet itself. But I'm at the library now, and it's working fine. Thanks for the help.

My first flinch is to create a dwarvren Drunken Master Monk/Alchemist who's goal is to search for the perfect drink. The alchemist side can make all sorts of potables for himself and others.
But the idea is not very fleshed out yet :)
Question. Do I have to use a mythweavers sheet? I do all my character sheets by hand (even a lvl 20, gestalt dual caster once :p) and I have never used the program before.

Mythweavers isnt really a program, just a sheet. You still have to input by hand, all it does is kinda crunch numbers for you on certain things (skills, CMB, CMD, AC, saves, etc)

Myth-weavers sheet here.

Kwale, as a Mwangi sailor, was captured by a Chelish slaver ship; he's been kept as a captive healer by a Hellknight from Cheliax, who's bringing the doctor with him to Mendev.

Yes, you'll have to use mythweavers. It makes book-keeping easier on my end to have all the sheets following the same format, and accessible easily by internet links that can be bookmarked.

I give you, along with the spoilered information, my submission:

Coglen
Male LN Human Magus (BB/Kensai)/Alchemist (Viv), Level 1, Init 3, HP 10/10, Speed 30
AC 16, Touch 15, Flat-footed 11, CMD 13, Fort 4, Ref 5, Will 2, CMB 0, Base Attack Bonus 0
Wakizashi +4 (1d6, 18-20/x2)
Haramaki (+1 Armor, +3 Dex)
Abilities Str 10, Dex 16, Con 14, Int 16, Wis 10, Cha 10
Condition None

Character Name: Qot La'Jal
Race: Half-Elf
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Two Classes: Monk (Zen Archer)/Summoner (Synthesist)
Role: Damage Dealer (Ranged)/Support
Mythweaver: Character Sheet / Merged Character Sheet

Qot's reasons: Qot struggles to hide his racial origins. If inside his blood inheritage is strong and burning, outside he looks perfectly Human, and pretends the entire time to be it. He's originally from Qadira, and in his struggle for peace he joined the monasteries where he learned the fine art of the bow. His inert magic, however, started catching up to him - and the first time he saw himself summoning an Eidolon, he wasn't even trying to. This Eidolon, from the Shadow Plane, looks just like a darker version of Qot himself. Qot is a Lawful man, however, and wants to show the world - and himself - that he can be a warrior of good, so he seeks the orientation of the Hellknights. He plans to offer his services for the Crusade.

Question to the GM. Would you be ok with a non-standard race, if that race were half of the gestalt? Shi would be a gestalt with the first half being an unfettered eidelon, and the other half starting off rogue, but transitioning to cleric or warpriest or monk later (depending on the rest of the group's makeup). For example...

Level 1 : Eidelon 1/Rogue 1
Level 2 : Eidelon 2/Rogue 2
Level 3 : Eidelon 3/Cleric 1
Level 4 : Eidelon 4/Cleric 2
...
etc...

No, I would not be okay with a racial paragon class of that sort being part of the gestalt.

Ok, no problem then. Not sure how it's a racial paragon class, but if you're not ok with it, then you're not ok with it. *sigh* Not sure how come everyone thinks half a summoner class level is somehow more powerful than a full summoner class level, but I'm getting used to it.

Character Name: Kaley Toller
Race: Aasimar (Angelkin)
Gender: Female
Age: 87 (equivalent to early 20s for a human)
Classes: Alchemist (Beastmorph, Vivisectionist) // Paladin (Temple Champion)
Role: Melee damage ("hammer"), plus some skill utility
Mythweaver: Character Sheet

Kaley's reasons: Restlessness and frustration were what drove Kaley to leave the town of Thornkeep, where she felt helpless to make any impact on the lives of the people around her. Even following in her parents' footsteps as a doctor, the only career option she had ever truly considered, had begun to seem trivial in a town such as that. She has been traveling around for a long time. For years she stayed at a temple of Irori, and she put her faith in the same cause she had been moving toward in her continued work in alchemy and medicine: improving herself, so that when the time comes, she can improve the lives of others. In all her travels, she has been subconsciously heading in the direction of Mendev, although her feelings of intense distaste towards the Hellknights prevent her from admitting it to herself.

What about tein xia gods, could I be a cleric of one of those?

As of right now I am considering A half orc goliath druid / Blood Rager. The alternative would be a Wordcasting Oracle / Undead Lord Cleric Focussing on minionmancing with summons and undead, also as a half orc Most likely.

Ok, after playing around with a pile of options, I have finally completely changed my idea for a submission.

Looking at a human monk(unchained)/cleric(ecclesitheurge). Figuring out the last bit. Will worship either Shelyn or Kurgess.

Will try to get everything finished this evening.

I'm deciding on which applicants I'll be accepting this evening, though your idea sounds like it would work out quite well.

The half-orc idea sounds good. I'm noticing a lack of dedicated melee builds in the applications.

Hogeyhead wrote:

Tian Xian deities are allowed, though you'd still need a reason for a supplicant to a Tian god to be all the way in the river kingdoms.

Whoa, that's fast. Okay, I'll wait and see.

Selection this evening? Awesome. I like not sitting around and wondering. :)

if selected, I will whip up an alias for Coglen. That won't take long, since all the stats are already on the mythweavers sheet.

If there's still time, I'd like to put up a character. Only question I need answered first is if you'd DM-decide on an alignment prereq. I want to make a wild cat monk/fighter of Cayden Cailen but I don't want to be lawful as that seems counter to the Cayden. Would you allow my character to be NG instead?

Have you considered making an Agation-blooded aasimar with the Enlightened Warrior trait?

Had not thought of that. Mostly because I didn't know about it. I shall write it up and post it on here post haste.

Going aasimar, do you allow the variant traits in Blood of Angels?
