[Interest Check] Emerald Spire Superdungeon Gestalt

Recruitment

Grand Lodge

I'm checking to see how much interest there would be in a Play-By-Post with this arrangement.

Campaign: Emerald Spire Superdungeon

Battles and maps would be handled through Roll20, which I have a middling skill in handling. People would post their actions on the Play-By-Post, and I'd move the pieces respectively so that people'd know where each character/creature were located in relation to one another.

- 15 point buy
- Gestalt Rules in Effect
- No Evil Characters
- All Non-PFS legal material subject to GM approval. I'm pretty liberal on this front.
- In addition to currently legal PFS races, aasimar, tieflings, ifrit, undine, oread and sylph are permitted as well.

This sound like something you guys could get behind?

15 point buy seems a bit restrictive with gestalt. You can only really choose classes that use the same ability scores then. But that might be your intent.

Yes, that is my intent.

Yes, I'd like to play a super dungeon. Although 15 point may seem restrictive to some people, I see it more as silly than as restrictive. We will be all powerful, we will be Gestalt, but we will be a 15 point buy. Very interested, and would love to see how a 15 point buy Gestalt plays out in a super dungeon.

Edit: As far as restrictive, not in my book, I will still try to make a Gestalt that uses two different main abilities and make it work. It might not be as powerful, but it will be playable and I'll be able to use stuff without worry of restrictions.

Actually I'll make a new post to ask this question, but what are your Gun Rules?

Gunslinger will be legal, although only early-period guns will be permitted.

Depending on the archetype, I'll allow some of the other gun-using class archetypes to be permitted. If you've got a specific one in mind, I can give you a solid answer, as per...

I should ask though, if I do go with a gunslinger or anything that uses a gun, will there be a way for me to obtain/buy ammo, or am I out of luck once I run out of my original set of ammo? I realize this may make the DM think about put guns in the dungeon if someone plays one.

Stores inside Fort Inevitable will have things like ammunition for guns available. As for loot, I'll likely roll for the occasional extra magic item, picking out a general category I know the party is in need of (like if nobody has a belt slot magic item, or if nobody has magic weapons, etc.).

Interest spoken, but I have a couple of games that I have characters in consideration for so we'll see where I am in a couple of days. In the meantime are you familiar with Interjection Games?

This sounds interesting, but like the previous poster there's another campaign I've submitted a character for, so we'll see how that goes. I would personally prefer a higher point buy and non-gestalt, but I'm not complaining, really. :) As for stuff that's not PFS-legal, how do you feel about primal magic (either the primalist wizard archetype or the Spellscar oracle mystery)?

The rules descriptions for primal magic refer to effects by CR, yet fail to actually explain what CR has to do with the effects in any clear way. The answer would be no to the Primalist wizard archetype or the Spellscar oracle.

I am not in the slightest familiar with Interjection Games. I take it that it's a 3rd Party Publisher? In which case I'm highly reluctant to allow anything from them.

Ah, Okay, I misread the post, I saw it as anything not pathfinder legal, when it's pathfinder society. Well this is them If any of the classes sound like something you might be willing to allow, let me know, if I have it I'll let you peruse it. And this is one of his most supported classes.

Nope, allow me to rectify my initial statement.

All Non-PFS legal Paizo-published material subject to GM approval. I'm typically pretty good about allowing Paizo-made stuff.

Got a character from a superdungeon game a while back I could retool pretty easily. What sort of post rate do you see this game going to, if I'm thinking of strategies that might get more fun around level 4-5?

I'm available for several hours each day, more if I'm not at work.

As for strategies that get more fun at level 4-5, that's typically when a lot of builds come online. Druids get wildshape, a lot of good feats that have prerequisites will finally be available, and some other classes get some very good class features around that level, as it's too far to necessarily dip.

Alright; here is my Bloodrager/Witch submission—defensive melee, offensive status-casting (with a few levels and hexes, at least).

There aren't any links in your post.

Also, I think there's enough interest to warrant making a recruitment page.

I'm expanding the Point buy to 20 points as well.

Here is the link to the Recruitment Thread if any of you are interested.

The Alias IS his character. All the information is in the profile. I am still debating wether I want to sign up for this or not...
