Any chance of getting proficiency with shuriken baked in rather than having to spend a feat on Exotic Weapon Proficiency?

Sovereign Court

come on... batman had to spend a feat for that and you know it!

No, Batman is an Avenger//Ninja gestalt, he got proficiency from the ninja levels.

Sovereign Court

I think he's just a ninja... why would he multiclass?

He'd probably also pick up some Investigator

He's the World's Greatest Detective, not the World's Greatest Ninja. He's an Investigator first and foremost, though replace all of the alchemy with tech gadgets. Then gestalt ninja >_>

Not really seeing the ninja by Pathfinder class's standards.
He doesn't really do any of the ki mystical stuff.
Slayer fits him better, thematically. With a dash of Brawler.

I would like to see our avenger class be able to combine these aspects (it kinda can but not to full effect).

Maybe signature weapon talent can include proficiency?

Tim Drake was a better detective.

Sovereign Court

ok then... he's an UNCHAINED ROGUE with the ninja trick rogue talent, underhanded talent, surprise attack talent, and if you want him to rock exploding batarangs, the bomber rogue talent from Ranged Tactics Toolbox.

Sovereign Court

...oh, and he's got the Coax Information unchained rogue talent, for when he screams, "WHERE'S HARVEY DENT!" in people's faces.

This is reasonable, imo. The source media is full of people who specialize in all kinds of crazy weapons.

Scarab Sages

He's actually a third party class called "The G@@@@@m Batman!" ;)

He is tough to properly build while still being as effective as he seems in media. I wouldn't mind signature weapon also granting proficiency, and thus, delaying when you get weapon focus.

If you take the talent at 2nd, you are proficient or Focused if already proficient. At 4th you are focused if the talent granted proficiency. The rest can be the same.

You don't need shuriken, just throw Chakram! I'd believe those make a believable faux batarang.

Scarab Sages

Actually, you can make them just fine as Darts or Thrown Daggers.

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

he's a Gestalt 20th level fighter and 20th level brawler with 10 mythic tiers and several times WBL, because he's the g&%&#+n batman.

I don't think PF classes are all that applicable to characters from fiction. The abilities provided by them are much too specific and limited to emulate most popular characters. However, shuriken proficiency should come baked in, they're not even all that strong

Yep, I'd go with bat-shaped Chakrams as well. Vigilantes already get Martial Weapon Proficiency, so that would work.

You win. He really really is..

also honestly speaking it woudl be amazing if they somehow got a "choose your vigilante weapon" thing.

cause I SOOO want a bolas user, to fit in with the nontlethal. Throwing bolas as a stalker is just plain neat sounding.

In general the cooler more unique throwing weapons.. are just impossible to use. Because it costs a feat and feats are soo weighty that using it like that is usually a bad idea.. Really wish they just had talents for granting prof in one type of weapon of any kind. So anyone could use any weapon.. but I totally understand why they don't.. It would just be a lot more fun and can make unique things.

Like.. I don't think any class ever knows bolas usage innately. Except bounty hunter slayer.

Signature weapon also granting the proficiency seems like a very attractive option and would certainly allow for a great deal of customization in vigilantes; it also doesn't have any balance problems that I can see, as it's basically the same as what war priests get

This is a good idea.

Batman: The Animated Series 1995

They have him trained as a Samurai. The pathfinder Samurai (ronin/knighterrent) , i would also think be perfect for the character.

Batarang = Boomerang exotic feat in the APG.
