Antipaladin Gunslinger style archetype-the hell marked gunslinger(or un-holy gun)

The antipaladin really has not recieved a lot of love from paizo for a while, while the paladin recieved a lot more in comparison. So here I was wondering what you could do to make an antipaladin that could stand up to some of the more modern iterations of the paladin. What better place to start than with the antithesis of the holy gun archetype, the hell marked gunslinger, a chaotic gunslinger who uses dark magic to help bolster his lethal skill with firearms.

As for building the class, I was thinking of dissecting the holy gun and replacing the main spell lists and relevant abilities with those that would suit an antipaladin. Personally I could see such characters as being the kind of whom act as debt collectors for demons, made deals with Devils for vengence and blood, and indulge in vice and sin for the pursuit of pleasure and personal gain. And if a posse come to collect whatever bounty is on your head, lay them out or hang them high. Either way, only one of you is leaving that situation alive.

Any ideas to make this work better? Or are there any that have any crazy class ideas they want to share?

Oh, I definitely plan to include an anti-paladin (unholy gun archetype) or something like that for the Gothic Horror Old West PF setting I am currently working on (for publication). My setting will focus on undead and aberrations, no demons/devils, however (all demonic beings are really aberrations in my setting.)

Already developed are Shootist (magus archetype), Texas Ranger (druid archetype), Journalist (investigator archetype), and Pinkerton (slayer archetype) with many more coming, including a Knights Templar (probably an inquisitor archetype).

I'm also building a one-shot module that will entirely occur aboard a steam train, called Horror on the Gila Express. I've already created player friendly maps for an entire steam train from locomotive to caboose.

This setting will be called Gothic Western.

I think also not many liked the antipaladin. I honestly preferred if it was more of a lawful evil class. It makes more thematic sense to me.

Perhaps this archetype/class could be called a "Hellslinger?"

Actually, this sounds like a fun idea for a villain. *Scribbles notes down.*

Yeah, I'm definitely not a fan for the anti-paladin being CE, much preferring a LE version.

Check out Clinton Boomers tumblr for lots of anti paladin goodness - so to say - Including gunslinger stuff.

I think there needs to be 2 main types of antipaladin, the hell knight-esque lawful evil types and the nearly insane darkness filled blackhearts. If paizo had both with benefits and faults to each but aiming for the same sort of goals then it would probably see more play. I hope pathfinder 2 has options for both styles. Some options would be unique to each but most could share the same archetypes.

After all, blackheart antipaladins(chaotic evil types) have more limits but are potentially the more powerful. They have to be, considering that most normal antipaladin-wannabes end up dead from their own stupidity or their once allies betrayal. They need to have power, and the skill to back up that power if they want to survive in such cases.

As for the blackguard/hell knight varients(lawful evil), there are many scattered throughout Golorian, though their strongest power bases lie in the dark, corrupt and twisted empires of Cheliex and guarding the roads of ursastadt and other regions. These have garnered a reputation for amoral action, corruption and violent conduct, but their record stands as a testament to their efficiency and dedication to law and order. Even a paladin might work alongside such individuals to face a more common foe. Though their opinion might differ with regards to certain methods of achieving their goal.

And these are not neccesarily going to be changing the archetypes that the antipaladin already has. It's like the ninja to the rogue, or sacred fist to the warpriest. An option that stands on its own, and can have slightly different skills to the original while doing the same thing.
