Mummy's Mask. Yes, I added stuff, yes I skipped a part or two in book 6 Earth Crypt, Fire Crypt and most of Inner Sanctum and just told the story of what happened, yes it had mess-ups, and yes I changed a few things including monsters and other parts, but the main story and concepts remained the same. May 1st, 2014 to June 22, 2015

Reference for anyone else to save searching.

Total of 2,647 posts only - fair to say that the entire experience was streamlined somewhat...

Do you have links to games that were actually finished where I can compare? Actually the stop point was at 2642 posts, the last 5 are aftermath game stuff.

Wow! Not as quick but fewer posts than the Skull and Shackles game!

This one - which ran to 26,346 posts.

This one - at 8,858 posts.

Here's a completed CotCT game, clocking in at 11,821 posts and just over two elapsed years.

Otoh, I've been running a game for coming up on 3 years and 7,726 posts where the party has only achieved 2nd level. :)

I slowed up since the month of December, not posting every day but only a few times per week. Thus, it could have been over in May, thus being in just a year without me cutting out some stuff in book 6. Though my players were dominating combat anyhow. But Skull and Shackles done is just 4 months, that is impressive, I bet the players were tired out after that speed run.

Looks like I'm the 4th person to finish an entire AP, if changing a lot of things, and skipping over a part or 2 and streamlining it still counts.

I must be doing something wrong!
If the goal is to finish an AP, then I have been messing up big time in my Shackled City AP....

I added Forge of Fury (instead of Drakthar's Way); The Speaker in Dreams ; and The Standing Stone, they are just getting back to the Demonskar legacy and 8th level!

We started in Sept 2010 and have 6,239 posts in the game thread.......

Curse of the Crimson Thrones: By Baldwin the Merciful May 23, 2012 to July 11, 2014
Skull and Shackles: By Daxter April 1st, 2013 to July 29, 2013
Mummy's Mask: By DoubleGold May 1st, 2014 to June 22, 2015

I wonder if this has anything to say about the DMs, the players, or even the Adventure Paths itself.

At KenderKin: Don't worry if you didn't finish the AP yet, the fact that you have ran your game since Sept 2010 and the fact that you are still at it, says something about your dedication and your ability to keep the game going.

As a newbie to these forums and PBP it's heartening to see people actually play APs through!

And this CoT completed.

Congratulations on completing an AP that's a huge accomplishment.

That was my game, and it was actually a Council of Thieves game. The characters, npcs, and storylines were richly developed beyond the AP.

I have two other long running campaigns, which are going strong:

1) Rappan Athuk, March 10, 2013 to present. It has 9,282 posts, so far. This is my slow to moderately paced game. This game is pretty straight forward a hack 'n slash, but with some intra-party roleplay.

2) Razor Coast, July 9, 2014 to present. It has 11,502 post, so far. I started this game after the COT, and it is very active and fast paced. This campaign has deep character and storyline development. With the sandboxy nature of the campaign, it's pretty difficult to run. Organization is key to keeping this one on track.

Looking at adding THE RAZING OF REDSHORE after they finish the AP as a special bonus to the people sticking through the whole game....

This seems a bit weird. I do not believe you can run 6 adventures (even if one is reducted) with only that many posts. I would say it takes a minimum of 1000 posts for one part of an AP...

I could be wrong, I am not that experienced pbp player after all...

version 1.5, move all the monsters around, so they fit in 3 rooms instead of 12 rooms, therefore you can just say in the next post the description of a room, especially if there was a monster in there. Hey if the adventures can move around in the dungeon, why not the monsters. Autoroll perception checks for adventurers, to make them automatically find treasure and traps and just automatically make them move to the next room. They still have a little bit of freedom from time to time, but some parts of the game, their characters are forced to move through the dungeon, because the DM moved the characters through posting.

Runelords - 8500 posts, and we are half way through... :)

That said, I took over after the previous GM departed, so will be accelerating that bad boy to the end.

Impressive! It should feel very rushed for the players though. Depends on people's taste it can work or not.

I am in a RotRL with 4,043 posts after 9 months. We are still at book 2, despite we have rushed through some of the dungeons, avoiding large parts not primary to the history, and have a good posting pace. We have had a lot of interesting character interaction, both PC and NPC wise. In-character tensions arise from time to time between players which I think relates to some players desiring to add more in-character development while others would prefer to advance through the plot and see what happens next.

It also seems the number of characters should have a large impact in the number of posts, we have been running between 5 and 7 characters, so I am curious... how many players have participated in your AP DoubleGold?

Congratulations!

Players, they came and went. It was 5 players up until about the last 2 books and it changed to 3. I tried to recruit more, but they dropped out pretty quickly. Book 1 started with 7 players and moved fast, but 2 dropped out quickly. If you count the DM's character as a players it was 6 players up until book 5 started, then I removed him as well.
