So I was reading another article about his passing and it struck me that his death certificate listed June 7 as the day he died, but they waited until today to release it to the press...
This makes me laugh because if I was in a place where Christopher Lee "Died" I would wait a little while myself, just to be sure.

Mildly not safe for work, but no other words can convey some of the things he did..
His time with the office of "ungentlemanly warfare" is sealed, but when shooting lord of the rings Peter Jackson was trying to coach him on the sounds he should be making. He replied that he knew very well what someone being stabbed in the back sounded like...
It says something when you've played dracula, Comte de Rochefort , a jedi turned sith lord and Sauromon himself that the most amazing role he ever played was Christopher Lee.

Everyone seems to know that not only had he met Tolkien but was given the great author's approval to play Gandalf "if the version was ever made."
Some more amazing facts about Sir Christopher Lee.
1. Was Knighted and a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, and the Venrable Order of St. John.
2. Help fight (and defeat!) the Soviet Union being on the side of the Finns.
3. Help fight Nazi Germany on FOUR theaters of the European and African war.
4. Actually met with Rasputin's conspiratorial killers and was present at the final execution in France that would use the guillotine.
5. He is a cousin to Ian Flemming, who was encouraged by Lee to publish James Bond. Later Flemming would want Lee to portray 007, but he would become the James Bond Villain Saramanga instead.
6. Is related to by blood to the family branch that would come to the Americas, including Robert E. Lee.
7. These and all of his interesting relations pale in comparison to another one. Christopher Lee is a descendant of Charlemagne himself.
Sir Christopher Lee also entered the Star Wars saga Long before his portrayal of Count Dooku.
While the art for the character never seemed to realize this properly, Christopher Lee was the inspiration for Grand Moff Ardus Kaine in 1994, as the Grand Moff who would take over Grand Moff Tarkin, who was portrayed by his life long friend, Peter Cushing.

Another star falls from the heavens.
You know, for some time now we appear to have had a surplus of mean, stupid, repulsive and worthless people running around working very hard to make the world a poorer, dumber, and uglier place - why can't some of them die for a change?
While I agree with you on part of what you said I must correct you. It's not "Another star falls from the heavens". It's "Another star has risen to the heavens".
There will never be another like him.
To you, Sir Lee, I raise my glass in salute.
