IN, Indianapolis - Looking for a group to join

Gamer Connection

Morning all,

Myself and my wife are veteran gamers moving from Australia to Indianapolis in early July 2015. We'd really love to find a group to join as we are avid gamers.

At this stage, I think we will be living on the North Western side of Indianapolis but I'm not sure (the company is organising accommodation).

Thanks

Dave

Let me know if Game Time in Castleton is within sensible travel distance. Specifically Game Time on Thursday.

Frankly I have no idea :) We don't even know where we'll be living, let alone how long it takes to get around town.

Thanks

Dave

I know Nohwear has his home game on Thursday there in the NE area of town.

If you haven't tried it, there is also PFS weekly at rotating store. Every Friday it's at Saltire Games east of Indy by a couple of miles. On Saturday's it usually rotates between Game Time and Hero's Emporium. Game Time is NE corner of Indy and HE is closer towards the center of town, but still towards the NE side of town.

PFS isn't for everyone, but it is a way to meet a number of local gamers. They generally organize their games on WarHorn here: https://warhorn.net/events/central-indiana-pfs

Best of luck to you on the move, and welcome to the States!

A gaming couple moved from Australia to Indy just weeks before GenCon? Pretty cool! Gamers abound here in Indianapolis, so it won't likely be too hard to find a group. I too recommend our active PFS groups to first get to meet people, even if you don't intend to continue with PFS in the future. I believe there are some facebook groups for Indianapolis gamers as well as the Who's Yer Gamers organization which may be able to help as well. For non-pathfinder stuff there are a number of groups that meet at libraries throughout the year as well. Many of the local game stores also have bulletin boards and such for people looking for players/games. Best of luck on your move, I hope we meet sometime (I play PFS about every other week at Saltire). Until then, happy gaming and welcome to Indianapolis!

Thanks Drake, beautiful words that make me feel great about coming to Indianapolis. Funny thing is, it has been a life long dream to come to GenCon since I was playing 1st ed AD&D and saw it in a Dragon magazine.

I've never tried PFS, but I'll give it a go based on your comments.

Thanks

Dave
