Airship from Ultimate Combat legal for PFS?

Say that a character has 50,000 gp burning a hole in his haversack and more than 49 Fame points. Would he be able to purchase an airship from Ultimate Combat? Additional resources says nothing about the vehicles in Chapter 4.

My sailor recently rode in one during a Seeker arc and now is turning green with envy. He won't stop pestering me until I get an answer. Make it stop, please! I beg of you!

I think that's a "nope". If the Additional Resources doesn't say "everything between the pages of x and y is legal" or something else that encompasses that chapter, then it's not cleared for take-off.

However, if I could interest you in a wonderful magic carpet, onto which you can build a little low-weight hut - well there would be nothing stopping you from hanging a sign saying "Mah Airship" from one of the huts windows.

I think he'd be better suited to just tying a bunch of helium balloons to his ship and calling it good that way. Wants an upgrade, after all.

If you read it... it says all material is legal except what it notes... says it right under the title of the book in the AR .... go for it... be the sky pirate you always yearned to be

Ahhh I see you brought a knife to a zeppelin fight

Dataphiles

Yep gotta agree with feylund. It specifically lists everything is legal with the exception of the listed items, and it does not appear to be amongst them.

Glad you brought this up, because I have a Tengu pirate that totally needs to make this happen as well!

That's what I originally thought.

correct me if I'm wrong....but the knife wins right? Scissors beats paper all the time (or knife beats balloon in this case).

In before my VC waltzes in telling that story about how his EotT GM credit character rides around Jean-Claude van Damme style with one foot on each of his two airships.

Airships? Bah, King Xeros is where it's at!

Or that Dustpawn craft.

I don't remember which thread it was in but one of the game designers said there are no airships in Golarion.

Airships actually show up in a PFS scenario*, as well as a module**.

*: For reasons I won't get into here, I could see an argument for this one not counting.
**: Granted, the airship in this one doesn't really play much of a part in the module.

Pretty sure UndeadMitch's avatar is from the module that has an airship ;)

As of this point... there are no airships in Golarion. I'm pretty sure there won't be airships in there anytime soon, either.

Eh, he said "As of this point" back in aught seven. So at this point, i'd say the times have changed. We could try hitting him up in the "ask" thread to see if that answer has changed.

And why yes Walter, yes it is.

So for the Seeker arc/scenario with the airship, what check is used for piloting/driving it?
The one from UC doesn't have a skill listed and I'm curious.

Its difficult to describe the airship operation without spoilers as the checks listed have more to do with the situation at hand.

Example:the scenario might call on survival to avoid losing altitude because the airship is on fire.

Ah ok cool.

Hmmm I wonder if I can save up for an airship by level 10 for my pyrokineticist.

Don't forget that those airships don't sail themselves... You're going to need a crew as well.

Thankfully the UC airship has a crew of 0.
