I think my new computer will be needing more RAM sooner that I had thought. 8GB might not be enough.
My computer will NOT be naked!
Hey, on the super bright side, the windows 10 upgrade scheme has apparently caused a free fall on some components, and RAM is down to like $25 for 4GB.
I'm just hoping black friday sales drops 400-500GB SSDs down below $100 so I can hit both the RAM train and SSD train in the same go round. Though SSDs are still relatively high demand for generic upgrades like mine, so their price point isn't making much lower movement.
That aside, I'm hoping I can get my box juiced enough for less than 200-250 to last all the xcom 2 and fallout 4 gaming i'm going to be putting in over the next year and change.
I plan on adding another 16 GB of RAM when I get a chance. Everything else can wait until later.

Less RAM intensive, makes better use of what the PC already has.
Also heavily pushed as an upgrade to existing win7 systems, largely a 64bit market with probably about 6-8 GB on the average big box or direct sales preassemble. No need to buy a new box like xp to 7 means way fewer wholesale ram sales to vendors.
There is a 32 bit market?
Not anymore but two years ago yeah. Wife's laptop is a 32bit.
Corroborating article putting a good portion of the blame of this past quarter's 10.8% sales decline over same last year on Windows 10. Makes me wonder why gaming related components haven't plunged lower than they already are.
Plunging PC Sales
Because nVidia and ATI can still charge through the nose for high end cards. It's very much a niche market and becoming more an more niche all the time.

After all, their mid to high end cards are reasonably priced and offer quality performance. But there will always be people who will want nothing but the best.
Beaglerush plays XCOM 2 From what I hear, this is a beta version that Firaxis let him try out for a bit. So far, it is AWESOME looking! I can't wait!
only 2 more weeks. now to get my new video card installed and functioning...

As much as I have enjoyed Fallout 4, THIS game is the reason why I went with a new PC.

Someone is in 2016?
More and more isps are going to metered. Comcast is metering it's highest speed tier this year iirc.

Someone is in 2016? *shurgs* It is surprising how often Americans aren't given much choice in their selection of ISP providers while we, backwater Europeans, and from behind the Iron Curtain at that, can pick from arrays of decent deals...
Heart of the Cards!
That does look really good. Too bad my budget is so tight at the moment.

Operation Final Rhyme. Lost a solder due to a truck exploding before it allowed me to move. Note to self, NEVER park your solders near any cars or trucks. Last game you had a turn notice.
Lost a soldier from enemies shooting through walls and ceilings!
Hmmmnnnnn... Four dead (two from the tutorial, one from the first mission, and one from the second mission) and two gravely wounded. I am loosing the war before it has even started. Plus it is setting a bad precedent.
Haha I know what you mean.
Did anyone else loose any solders in the tutorial mission? I never did like that with the first XCOM.
Yeah, both of the goofs. Not as traumatizing as xcoms tutorial though.
I failed the tutorial mission the first time. They killed all my dudz. Then I had ONE survivor in the first mission.
Lowering difficulty and starting over.

Best improvement: reload shoot.
Most horrible thing: thin men. Oh I'm sorry, they became worse... Vipers.
These timed missions are getting annoying. And I am just beginning the game.

RIP Sergent So Ji "Mad Dog" Chun. You will be missed. I managed to recover her body and take it to the evac site. Damn Stun Lancers.

Darn timed missions. I hate them too.

God I'm loving this game. I know people don't like the timed missions, but let me tell you the timed missions are what makes this game great. Timed missions force you to make difficult decisions every turn (do I race forward to get to the hack point or wait here and ambush the reinforcements that are dropping in next turn?)
Otherwise this game would go the same way the first one did. (Crawl forward and overwatch at all times)
The variations in missions keep me interested and taking necessary risks. Snipers are slightly OP, but Assaults are so incredibly satisfying.
Snipers have my favorite ability, return fire. I love the mission timers, even if they frustrate me. Having to actually tactically rush is pretty fun, and a nice change of pace from enemy within.
World map planning, though is killing me. Trying to push for squad advancement through gts and adv warfare leaves me early with a gap in available contacts to counter avatar sites. Finally building a coms in the ship to get past three, but I have like 3 more rooms I want to build! Psi training is just laughing at me as I try not to lose from countdown timer.
I've put in about a dozen hours on two different difficulties, and I love it. 5/5 goty!
Freaking hell. They have Chainswords. Freakin' chainswords. I almost lost a guy because they cut through the freakin' wall i was hiding behind to do all but one of his hp. He's only gravely wounded and suffering the shaken loss of willpower/panic now, which is basically dead to me until that fades.
And those Sectoids! Steroid abusers the lot of em. teller then basketball players, and whipping out dominations, zombie reanimations, and mind blasts. yeeeeesh!

The angel aliens with their bombardment...
I think the lead designer did say "Your tears are like candy to me"
~grumbles~ Even at the easiest level, I am having a hard time making ends meet. Too few solders, and I am having a hard time stopping the Dark Avatar project. ~sighs~ Maybe I should just let it happen and see how the bad ending is.
~shudders in Horror~ Chryssalids!!! Why did it have to be Chryssalids? Kill them! Kill them ALL!!!!!
