If you use this item at the location in Skull and Shackles which makes you shuffle the location after you examine a card in it, you start a potential infinite loop allowing you to shuffle and look at the top card of the deck until you've seen every card in the deck. It's a corner case, but might deserve an errata. Maybe make it display until the end of your turn, then return to your hand before you draw up?

Bah, ignore this. It was already FAQ'd. D'OH!

Sovereign Court

That's a weird FAQ, just reprinting a rule onto the card.

That being said, I wouldn't think a card should ever be errata'd based on something from a different set.

It was FAQ'd because of this other FAQ. So, without the additional text on the card, the Ring of Climbing could be used multiple times per step or check. And who knows what else might be coming that could also repeatedly shuffle the location deck.

The rules say "a specific card’s power may only be used once per check or step." That's not quite the same as "You may not use this power more than once per check or step," worded in the negative. Because of the golden rule's "cannot trumps can" clause, other cards can override the first wording, but not the second.

Hawkmoon is right, though: we only *need* the override because of the "If a power says it may be used when something happens, you may use it every time that happens" rule.
